We have offerd 3.7mil for ali and coyles refused it again, saying they know what we want so if they come back with 4 perhaps we can do buisness

Just because other clubs throw away good money after bad doesn’t mean we should. Whelan is right to haggle. If we eventually pay £4m fine, but no harm to try.

Makes no odds. If we have to bid £4m to get him – which we will – if anyone else bids £4m it becomes a straight choice for Ali between us and the other club.
But if the other club wanted him, why would they wait until the price reached £4m before bidding? :think:
i don’t think any club, anywhere would pay £4mill for either Jussi Jaskelinen or their no. 2 keeper (Bogdan is it??) in the current market & at the current point of their careers

As good as Al habsi was last season, what Bolton are doing is taking the pish. Find me any other club who rate their 3rd choice keeper at £4mill in the transfer market
If Latics have £3-£4mill to spend on a keeper then I’m sure there are other keepers out there in the big wide world who would offer better value for money than Bolton are offering Al Habsi for
