According to skysports coyle reckons we controlled the game and deserved to win.
Hmm I reckon they controlled the game with there superior possession personally and thought they deserved it in the end.
My take on coyle is that he has the players capable of doing much better, the formation on paper looks sound but there just not playing as a team, no fluency between them, I’m not sure what’s missing but has he??

His comment in wep just about says it all,the people who cheered when Gomez was subbed need to realise what he brings to the game.Well after watching last night everyone who cheered thought that he brings jack shit to the game.

Or, everyone who cheered, knows jack shit? Just a thought, like
29 November 2013 at 11:36 pm #124062In the first half last night Gomez and McLean’s interplay on the left caused Wargem no end of problems, if we had got any players in the box we might have stood some chance of scoring, however it seems Owen Coyle’s way of setting up seems to be some form of a 4 4 2 system without the 2 up front.
What I would love to know is what is the point of playing 2 wingers when we have no strikers in the box and not one midfielder gets into the box either when we are attacking.
One last thing about Gomez, his dead balls last night apart from one just before he was subbed were 10 times as good as Watson has produced all season, again if our lack lustre attackers bothered to try to get on the end of one or two of them perhaps it may have been a different story.

bob on that.

Can’t argue with that.
30 November 2013 at 12:35 am #124068I’ll argue with it. Gomez’s dead balls were atrocious. How many corners went straight to the keeper or failed to beat the first defender? I’m not blaming Gomez for everything that went wrong last night but surely we should have made all those corners count for something.

I remember one free kick late on that was perfectly bent in around the defense on to the six yard line, and their keeper just nonchalantly strolled forward and stooped to gather it before our players even reacted.
It was a great cross begging for a player to anticipate it.
His corners weren’t that bad really, we just don’t seem to have anyone at the moment who attempts to get in front of the keeper and attack the ball.
Perhaps if we had had strikers on it may have been different, who knows.30 November 2013 at 1:06 am #124074A on loan midfielder playing upfront on his own tells the story. But we play one up front all the time. Thing is Powell works his socks off compared with the other two journeymen.

like they have scored a ponful this season.can’t arsed looking isn’t a midfielder or a defender our top scorer so far?
I am also of the opinion that keeping very low makes a difference to your chances.
3 no. 4.
30 November 2013 at 1:12 am #124078If Moyes recalls Powell, then we won’t be able to play him as the lone forward any more.
Who else can do it? We may have to play a forward – perhaps Keane who is coming in Powell’s place.
30 November 2013 at 1:18 am #124080Why not just drop Powell into midfield where he should be and try Holt and Fortune together as a strike partnership. Now that would be a novel idea.
30 November 2013 at 2:22 am #124083Holt and Fortune in the same line up? It’d be like playing with 9. Powell may not be a striker, but I’d much rather have him up there.
30 November 2013 at 2:37 am #124085That’s all very good if he his played as a striker, but the poor lad was in virtually every position but keeper on Thursday. If he is played as a striker, the midfielders will have to do his work for him, and he would still he need someone up there with him.
30 November 2013 at 2:38 am #124086If coyle thought he was bringing something to the party why sub him after an hour. Hmm.
