There’s a world of difference between an elite sportsman getting pissed on a regular basis, and the coach having a few beers. The coach’s weekly alcohol level has no impact on the on-field performance.
8 July 2018 at 2:30 pm #170142I saw a video the other day showing Gibbo a bit worse for wear slagging off Sunderland and its fans (pffff) saying they were shit etc.
Gibbo can sober up where as Sunderland remain shit!
Fuck the EFL
8 July 2018 at 2:37 pm #170143What was everyone’s opinion when we signed carl bradshaw? He turned out to be ok for us.

The video was from July 2017 and Gibson called out several of his team-mates for not giving a shit. The players named were Kone, Lens and Khazri. At no stage did he slag off the fans.
But lets not let facts get in the way of another Bullitt Bullshit sesson!
8 July 2018 at 4:39 pm #170146I know Sunderland have a huge geographical area and population to draw fans without competition from other league clubs but 23,000 season tickets sold so far is not a bad effort from the fans for League One and face it they’ve had a lot to complain about in the last few years.
10 July 2018 at 4:02 pm #170165Bit of a cop out from you Vat, usually have plenty to say, i don’t think you have a valid reason to be disappointed just summat else to whinge about! The only reason people on here don’t fancy him is because he likes a pint or two, Cookie is exactly the same is he not?
Anyroad what happened to “in Cook we trust”?
Not really. As I stated, other people’s comments saved me the trouble.
Days are gone where I waste half my day debating on here… too busy now.
10 July 2018 at 4:21 pm #170166Well we do need somebody to get to the bottom of this Novichok issue.

15 July 2018 at 11:20 am #170283What’s the problem here, we have had worse and I expect he can do steadying job in midfield. Hopefully it doesn’t means Morsey is on his way out though.
15 July 2018 at 3:09 pm #170287?‘Do you love anyone enough to give them your last Rolo?’ It’s from a tv ad if you’re too young to remember it! ;)

17 July 2018 at 1:32 pm #170340You have yo look at the actual drink driving offences Darren Gibson WAS found guilty of. The first one he nearly killed 3 cyclist who were fixing a broken chain at the road side then colliding with a petrol pump. Then the second offence he didn’t just wing a taxi mirror he hit another and shunted it 50 yard down the road into a wall.
After he was arrested for the second offence it was discovered he had been on strong medication/sleeping tablets and downed a bottle of Vodka the night before plus drinking that morning. He shouldn’t step anywhere near the DW that’s unless he playing for Bolton. For me it’s the nature of the offences, they aren’t your normal dickhead have a few pints then decide drive home and be a few mill over, he was 3 times over and pilled up to the nines. For his second offence he should have been jailed for 6-9 months but hey ho he’s a footballer so. Then I read in court he said it was a combination of things and told the court he was bullied when he was 15 which explains it all, abit like Britain’s got talent.
Paul Cook needs his head testing, I don’t give a flyer about how impressive he was against Tranmere it sends the wrong message out regarding the club, the same message (at the time) hiring Malky MacKay sent out. What we need to do is bring in young some young players hungry for success who value their career and strive to go onto bigger and better things not a guy who’s off the rails nearing the end of his career.

We have no money and we’re in a state of limbo. We have to make do with whatever we can get. Although we still have enough money to send everyone off to Spain for a week.
17 July 2018 at 2:11 pm #170342Give the bloke a break, ok he has done wrong but so have thousands of others. Paul Cook is no one’s fool and if he thinks he is ok to join us then I will back him in a blue shirt. The world is full of hypocrites.
17 July 2018 at 2:19 pm #170343Donny’s right, Cooks hands are tied at the minute, mind you nothing new there!
Ive no problem with Gibson signing if he can do a job for us, so long has he gets a taxi everywhere, i don’t fancy him behind the wheel of a car bladdered in Wigan, it could be one of us or our families that cops it next!
You would think we would be used to the pre season shambles by now.
Fuck the EFL
