just imagine that DW has just given you the managers job for next year …. :woohoo:
what would you do with the squad of players and who would you look to bring in?
would you carry on with the “pretty football” style or would you go all “hoof” again …..?
what would be the essential building blocks for 5 years time?
I would sign a couple of good CB’s and a decent Right Wing Back.
I would continue with the same 3-4-3 formation that did us well before we didnt have enough CB’s to play it.

Good post.Keeping Macmanaman is vital to us making a fist of it next season.He has only just broke into the 1st team so now is our time to reap the rewards of our careful nurturing. But alas when Whelan smells the ink on the notes he will be gone like Cattermole ” Sunderland haven’t got enough money to buy him,we plan to build our team around him”.6 days later gone.I for one would tell Roberto where to go for a season if he comes poaching and I worry if we do have an exodus a lot of people will return the insult buy keeping their season ticket renewal cash in the bank.He surely must give fans some optimism buy doing his utmost to keep as many of the squad together even if only for the short term.
Apart from Golobart and Joel I think every other name I’ve listed is under contract.
And if we use the sale of McArthy, compo and parachutes then we have cash for more players.Never said we’d come back up first time though ;)
Agrred – it’d be intersting to see how well he does wherever he goes as it should be somewhere with more money and better players…but somehow I doubt that will be enough. Look at Rodgers – the only reason he managed to do “so well” was because Suarez got him out of jail time after time.
