Below is a quote from Graham Barrow after todays game. The man should resign immediately if he believes this to be true. He is obviously deluded and clueless and cannot have been watching the same game as me.
Wigan interim manager Graham Barrow: “To be honest, the only thing I’m disappointed about is the result. That’s probably as good a 90 minutes as we’ve played for quite a while. I think we’ve played well in spells, both since I’ve been in charge and all season. But certainly from start to finish, it was as good as we’ve played.
“If I’m being brutally honest, I thought we missed our opportunity in the first 20-25 minutes by not being that little bit more ruthless, That’s the only thing I can fault about the performance.”

We were flat, lacked urgency…until about the 82nd minute, and we’re set up more to contain than to attack. Considering we needed to win today, it was nowhere near good enough. I cannot understand why he started with Hanson and Tunnicliffe, yet left Morsy on the bench. Terrible.
It’s going to have to be a complete backroom clear out and a complete new regime to come in and change things.
The boos at the end were justified and the players reactions was one of “ah well”. I’d have been sat on floor with head in hands feeling gutted.
Well, I might have been tempted to say; “let’s give Graham a chance” :woohoo:
But not after today’s post match comments from him. If he believes that it was a good performance today, then he must be the only one in the whole stadium that does. Said it before; start with the strongest line up FFS, get in front, then brick the goals up ! I’m sure that we would have had more respect for him if he’d attempted to throw the kitchen sink at Cardiff, for the second half at the very least. Instead we went down with barely a whimper !
In my opinion it was a dreadful performance from start to finish and totally unacceptable for any Wigan athletic team ,no fight,no guts,embarrassing and a disgrace to the shirt ( burn,Powell and Perkins excluded) of our great club!
Anyone thinking anything else has no right to be working in professional football.I don’t know why people are surprised by Barrow’s approach to games coz that’s exactly how he used to do when he was in charge in the 90’s
If someone asked me to pick a negative defensive formation I couldn’t have come up with a better effort than that Barrow put out yesterday.
Yes we had no fit strikers but that’s why we needed more attack minded midfielders.
