Rayo Vallecano have confirmed Wigan have tied up the signing of Mohamed Diame.
Wigan have been chasing the powerful midfielder for the last few weeks and now a deal has been finally agreed.
The move was expected to go through last week only for the move to be held up following a medical concern, but all has been cleared up and Diame will now make the switch to the DW Stadium.
Diame will help fill the void left by Lee Cattermole’s departure to Sunderland and his signing will come as a welcome boost to Latics boss Roberto Martinez as he looks to finalise his squad before the close of the transfer window.
Wigan are now hoping to receive international clearance from the Spanish Football Federation in time for Diame to make his debut against Manchester United this weekend.
Supposedly put in a bid for Kilgallon for Sheff United. Another good acquisition, in my view.
We finally seem to be putting together a fairly decent sized sqaud of players who can actually play.
Yes, Kilgallon and Moses.
We are leading the chase to sign Moses for £3m and we look to be snatching a deal for Kilgallon from under Newcastle’s nose.
I think there’ll be more to come yet with Bodde reported to be sealing a 4.5m deal next week.

I’d like to see another striker, or attacking player come in as well. Is Moses an attacker? Oh, fair enough.

Tuncay? (can’t see it, like)With these, and what we already have, we have a surprisingly decent squad. A mate of mine was saying “Wigan haven’t got a good squad” the other day. (He’s Everton)
But the thing is, it’s more the fact that people don’t know the players we have, or recognise their names. Fans of other clubs would struggle to name half of our players…….at the moment.A deceptively very decent squad, and in better numbers, than recent years. The way we are going, if we could qualify for Europe, we’ll have the strength in depth needed to chop and change the squad when you’re playing on Thursday then Sunday.

I think you can give that transfer a miss but this Negredo saga is being dragged on and I believe Bobby’s trying to get him at Wigan. Heard this from a few people and 1 very reliable guy who is/knows one of Whelan’s right hand men. I don’t know him myself and it’s not the friend of a friend sh*t some people come out with.
The guy was genuine and didn’t mention any names but did say Martinez is in talks with Madrid for a striker. Put 2 and 2 together and it has to be Negredo right? Can’t see it being Raul or Van Nistelrooy.
hope this negrado talk is true but with bobby and whelan coming out with all this ‘selling club’ and ‘make a proffit’ talk recently i cant see us spending 10 mill on anyone. we do badly nead a striker and i would go for Shola Ameobi, i think he would do the buisness.
Diamme, Bodde, Moses and Killgallon would all be great signings for us, one thing we have always lacked in the prem is numbers and strength in depth. Bobby did mention a big signing to the press when he was asked about the money from Valencia and Cattermole but nothing has been mentioned since.
Real Madrid have stated that they will only sell Negredo with a buy back price included in his contract. So, if we buy him for £10m and set Madrid a buy back price of say £15m then if he takes the prem by storm they’ll just sign him back (if they believe he’s good enough and of course if he agrees to go back).
The Spanish reports suggest he wants to stay in Spain but with the Spanish connection we have here at Wigan with Bobby, Gomez, the 2 young spanish lads who signed and Amaya we must be able to tempt him to the Premier League.

Ok, how do I reply to that?I have NEVER seen the lad play, he has only ever featured on loan at Spanish clubs, I couldn’t tell you if he was good or not, i’m going off what i’ve heard from an inside source. This news hasn’t been in the press (yet) and as stated in my message the guy told me it’s a striker from Madrid but did not mention any names. This is the same guy who told me we were signing a Korean lad weeks before we actually got him, the guy who told me Cattermole was unhappy before we played St Mirren and were all aware of Sunderlands latest offer. I don’t know the guy but he knows i’m a Wigan fan, he never mentions names simply says what he knows and gets you thinking. If it’s not true it could be that the lad wasn’t interested or that Bobby wasn’t impressed but i’m sure you’ll think it was just the guy/me talking sh*t?

You may never have seen the lad play, but you know he is a Madrid striker that nearly went to Hull for over £10 million. That is what your basing your judgement on.

Check one of your earlier posts and you say from your source that it IS Negredo we’re after and heard it from a number of sources now!

Hull went in for him and i am pretty sure he would rather come here than go there because of the spanish connection and the way we play, ithink he would come, I just cant see us spend that money.
But having said that, this buy back after ayear clause might tempt Whelan, he wont realy be spending anything will he. You never know, He tried something simmilar with Owen when we first got in prem.

You’re f’in impossible!I said he doesn’t mention any names but if you put 2 and 2 together it has to be Negredo. The guy is close to the club so he won’t risk anything by telling random fans all the info. He said it was a striker from Madrid. Are you following me now? I then convinced myself it was Negredo (been linked with a move all summer and not a big money player who everyone has heard of). I also knew Hull were after him so I thought it was him the guy was on about and then heard other people (my brother being one of them) mentioning Negredo being linked with Wigan (not sure of the source).
