Enjoyed the game, kone & di Santo were terrific first half,if we did it for 90 we would be ok this season, fair result for me
6 October 2012 at 10:35 pm #94642Very good team effort . Good to see no one slowing the attack down in midfield ie Gomez.Keep him on the bench and we will do OK.I’m a happy chappie tonight.

Di Santo, considering his lack of match fitness, was terrific. Pace and power upfront (sadly missing against Fulham / Sun’land).
Kone, coolness personified (quality), excellent pass for 2nd goal (Stoke City revisited). The 2 establishing a good rapport. Very much, looking good value for money.
Not quite so hot in defence. Everton admittedly a very good team. Still conceding at the rate of 2 goals per game.
On the basis Di Santo and Kone continue to gel and we get Alcarez back for Swansea (defence as you were, 2011/12), then I can see better days ahead…
Pity we couldn’t take all 3 points today. No keeper on earth would have saved Baines penalty. About time he did us a favour…long overdue !
6 October 2012 at 10:53 pm #94645Fair result if you ask me against arguably the best side in the country on current form.
Dont forget we went on a 9 game losing streak this time last year so at least we have stopped the rot and gained a point.
Thought our two strikers( 6 goals between them in seven games!) and Maloney were excellent today and i have seen enough in that game today to think we will be safe well before this season ends.
Onwards and upwards if you ask me! goodpost6 October 2012 at 11:22 pm #94647Have to concede that Moyes made a good sub at half time brining on Distin for Hettinga who was being run ragged by Kone. Was kept under control in the second half. Just wish we’d continued pressing in the second half as we had in the first.
And why didn’t Maloney square the ball near the end??
I said before the game I’d settle for a point, but can’t but feel that we have let 2 slip.

Fully agree but cant help feeling that three points escaped the tics hard work
7 October 2012 at 3:42 pm #94676thought it was a good game yesterday would have settled for a point beforehand but a bit disapointed we let the lead slip twice, to let them come up the field and score just after us was a shocker.

Agree, though I feel that they could’ve had a penalty sooner when Caldwell shoved Jelavic in the box. They were putting that many penalty claims in, they were bound to get one. I blame Caldwell, as I think hde was making some stupid challenges and we paid the price.
We can’t kill teams off and whilst it was an ok point, we can’t go through the season saying the same thing.
Overall performance, especially first half was quite good. Though we seemed to sit in and try to hold on, which we can’t do, and we threw two points away.
