Could mean that the injured players could be ready for Wolves and the suspended players won’t be missed as much, or am I being Naive?
19 December 2010 at 3:43 pm #53597I would say no, our best chance was yesterday, Villa had some key men out yesterday most noticeably Ashley Young, He will tear Figeuroa apart

The game at the DW swung on the Macca own goal, otherwise it would have been another job well done. :o
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!19 December 2010 at 6:58 pm #53611Could mean that the injured players could be ready for Wolves and the suspended players won’t be missed as much, or am I being Naive? No, your right in thinking that.
Boyce will almost certainly fit again, leaving it open for Gohouri to switch to LB.
Di Santo will also be fit so extra attacking options are on the bench.
Cleverley is another expected to be back.
19 December 2010 at 11:51 pm #53614Ashley Young, He will tear Figeuroa apartNot if he’s not playing on the wing, Houllier’s played him in ‘the hole’ this season (madness in my eyes as he’s an out and out winger) so I doubt him and Figueroa will lock horns.

Despite what you think Sephton, Franco Di Santo is an average player, he won’t affect the team much if at all.
Secondly, is Gohouri any improvement on Figueroa? I don’t think so as he was getting totally skinned by Matty Etherington vs Stoke, he looked clueless at full back.
20 December 2010 at 6:47 am #53618The postponing of the game merely prolonged the wait for the inevitable.
I would be willing to bet that Martinez was doing snow dances all week, hoping this, and our next two are cancelled, taking him into the new year, with uncle Dave then saying ‘well, we are into the window now, may as well persevere with the finest young manager in the game….’

He was by far our best Striker in his 1st few matches without a doubt, but ever since he was taken of at half time against Fulham he’s been very poor.
“Secondly, is Gohouri any improvement on Figueroa?”
 He’s been our best defender this season and was 2nd to the Man Of The Match award (in my opinion) against West Ham, Stoke and Everton.

How can you be the best striker if you havent actually scored a goal ???

Because he was playing better than ‘1 in 100 Hugo’29 December 2010 at 4:31 pm #54105Sorry if I’m a bit late on this one, but I’d like to point out a few statistics that would suggest you are wrong.
Franco di Santo’s record in the Premier league to date:
Chelsea: Apps 8 Goals 0
Blackburn: Apps 22 Goals 1
Wigan: Apps 12 Goals 0Total: Apps 42 Goals 1
Not a brilliant record that eh is it? But as you say, better than 1 in 100 Hugo. Who’s actually scored 18 goals in 69 appearances for us (and yes I did detect the sarcasm, yet it doesn’t really make sense when the player in question has a far better record than the other who you claim to be far better than he is).
Stats don’t lie Sephty lad, and don’t give me all this bull about di Santo working hard and all that. He doesn’t create many goals; doesn’t score any by the looks of things and is nowhere near the player Rodallega is.
Not that I’m not prepared to see how things go with him because he is still young, but I don’t see why you rate him so highly.
Lastly, Gohouri our best defender in those three games? I saw the Stoke game first hand and he was truly awful. Positioning, terrible. Tackling, useless. Getting skinned, excellent. And the less said about him going forward the better.
