taken from the post match interviews on sunday.

it doesnt matter how much possession you have during a game if you dont create enough chances and put the ball in the net you dont deserve to win games

i was proud of how we played in the second half and how hard we worked,it was our 53rd. game of the season, add this to a very hard game against the german league leaders on thursday and only having 2 days to prepare for a game against a team who had a full week to prepare and are fighting for their lives

“i though we deserved something from the game because we passed the ball well, and had lots of corners but we tired towards the end so it was hard for us”

one statement was made by david moyes after evertons draw with west ham ,the second was roy hodgson and the other was made by martinez

please can someone tell me what he brings to the table ?
i ask his supporters on here to explain it to me without resorting to insults,or going into a tirade about steve bruce’s inability or who else we could get or whelan has taken us so far.

the question is simple what are martinez’s plus points.

me and a mate got talking to the team bus driver at fulham and he said he was asked if he could leave the bus for a few minutes and then all hell broke loose and bobby lost the plot and went on a 20 minute rant at all the players, and there was no reason not to believe him.

after the tottenham game this was sorry

i would be interested to read any answers to this thread, that dont just go off tangent.

I think the answer to the plus points question is, he loves the club and isnt thinking of moving onto his next club. He may be learning his trade and has enough people in the game who rate him to make me think he has something.

        Progress with unity !

A thread with this title does not deserve a sensible answer and clearly is not attempting to promote a serious debate.
Also, what does “bring to the table” mean?

Loudmouth, anyone can pick bits of what people say and leave the facts out, Martinez said all he could say after the game, he said we need to keep our concentration, cut out silly mistakes and capitalise on our chances, once again you choose to try and ridicule him by picking out comments about passing and the amount of corners we had, grow up.

Imo I think it’s great that he’s trying to bring good passing football to the JJB, I hate long ball stuff as it doesn’t take skill or creativity to hoof it up to 2 big men. It may get results but alot of people on this board in pre-season said they don’t mind us going down if we play good football, looking at those comments now they look like a load of bull.

And before people say yes we do play good football as we get it doen and pass it, with a bit more movement up front and a better finisher we’d win alot more games. The reason alot of the passes are sideways or backwards is because nobody’s making a run to be picked out.

Some of us still stick with our pre-season, football not hoof is the way forward stance. Just….

If Martinez brought tapas to the table, you can already hear loudmouth “what’s wrong with a bit of English grub, this is rubbish Roberto”.

I think Loudmouth placed a sizeable bet at good odds that Martinez would get the sack before the season was out.

Well, the saying is ‘put your money where your mouth is’, so it most definitely has to be a sizeable amount.

i dont and never have been a gambler so i would never waste money on betting if someone will be sacked or not, and by asking “what he brings to the table” i would like to know of anything that martinez has done for wigan athletic this season that is of any benefit, despite the replies not one person has answered the original question,by all means ridicule or insult me for daring to ask the question, but when you have finished please tell mee what martinez has done this season to deserve any support of wigan athletic fans ?

if he would not have played for us with distinction some years ago he would have been at the job center months ago and that is what i dont understand.

He’s managed to beat the team most likely to win the league this season
and despite so many new faces in the team, he has kept us out of the drop zone.
In fact he’s beaten 2 out of the usual top 4, he’s tried to bring in his brand of passing football, he’s kept composed and dignified when some ridiculous decisions have gone against us, which have undoubtedly cost us points.

Well I haven’t ridiculed or insulted you, just pointed out that the title of your post means the post doesn’t deserve to be taken seriously. I’ve made no comment on the poster.
