Good point…….suppose it must do. They finished in the top four and have actually qualified for the group stages of the champions league.
I reckon the win yesterday must go down as one of the best results we’ve ever had, considering our recent form, plus Tottenham away is always a tough place to go at the best of times.
Does that also mean now that Liverpool no longer count as a big four scalp? Depends whether it is big four or top four.
The ‘big four’ are currently considered Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool based on their histories and their usual final positions in the league. Although if Liverpool don’t shape up I can’t see any reason why they should keep that title, because Spurs and City are really breaking into those places these days.
I remember when Everton were always the most likely side to break into the top 4, kinda miss those days  (mum’s side of the family are big Everton fans, so I’ll always have a soft spot for them)
No, the Spurs game doesn’t count because then we’d have broken our ‘top four’ duck in our very first season when we beat Everton 1-0 at Goodison. They finished 4th the season before, and nobody regarded that as a ‘top four’ scalp.
I agree, however, the Everton and Liverpool wins were made sweater by the fact that some of my mates support them. It was great to have something to reply to all their wins with!!

Wait a minute Citeh were in the second division with us not long back have won fo ok all for ages how do you work that out ?
The fact that they finished 5th last season, and are highly likely to finish somewhere around there this time, mainly because they will have to, to justify the £300m invested in the last two years.

Likewise re: Liverpool – 3 of my best mates are all Liverpool fans (tho only 1 is actually from Liverpool), not to mention my wife and all her family (4 brothers, all from Southampton/Bristol ?!*!).
