Another home game same crap……I f###### give up….Really is time to change .!!!
1 February 2025 at 6:11 pm #204979There was good points and bad points I thought the good points were we matched them especially for a bigger and more physical side.
We looked at times comfortable at the back and weathered their huff n puff storm.
Bad points
Ref, he had a shocker. He even delayed the game for a player off the pitch. He gave a pen for something That had gone on all the game.
Taylor missed an absolute sitter but worse, hes and open goal under no pressure and doesn’t even force a save from their keeper. And that’s the problem, no one he can score a vital goal when the chances appears especially tap ins

1 February 2025 at 6:19 pm #204983Fine but we don’t need a striker according to Maloney and our f###### useless recruitment team.
2 February 2025 at 12:25 am #204986Taylor isn’t a striker that’s the blunt truth, his role is to force errors or create for others i.e. the pass to J.Smith is a prime example of his role at the club.
If he was brutally honest with us all he’d probably agree with my thoughts.
Striker ?, Jesus, were do I start ?. So do we gamble on a Steven Fletcher journeyman type striker who’ll cost us the earth, more than likely not be able to play more than once a week and injury prone,
Or
A young lad who’s been scoring in an u21’s side but unproven at league level, can play twice a week and injury free ?.I personally think Maloney’s not arsed about an out and out forward he thinks goals should come from everywhere I truly believe that.
I still think he’ll go for Kristian Šekularac off Fulham an attacking midfielder but tbh without the service fookin Ian Rush would struggle to get 5 between now and May so that’s why he’ll not bother.
And there’s the small matter of, how tf can we attract a decent forward when we’re only prepared to pay them in Nectar points coupled with the brand of football we play which means he will get zero chances per game.
Finally, Goodwin, I was embarrassed to hear someone shout out today
“F**kin run Goodwin yer sh*t bast*rd”Now this to a young lad, on loan who’d been on the field for only 5 minutes and while he was still trying to get with the pace of the game. It was a shameful remark.
In the time Goodwin had been on the field he’d get better service in The Moon up town than from our midfield or widemen. Give the lad a fookin chance.
Then Sibbick was next to get a volley of abuse I was go smacked.
I don’t think the players are 100% to blame, Maloney’s chop shop squad changing tactics means players never get an understanding of each other.
The one player that stood out for me was Weir. I thought he was superb doing unsung donkey graft work off the ball he never stopped doing the ugly side of the game that rarely gets praised, he was outstanding.

2 February 2025 at 8:11 am #204992And regarding bringing a forward in ? That would mean we would have 3 forwards battling it out for the one slot and Taylor is 99% sure of starting if fit.
I can’t imagine Oxford would be beat pleased if Goodwin sits out the season or infact any club we approachI think Wiredu will be our last signing I just can’t see anymore coming in.
Then, how do you set up the defense ? Christ we’ve about 8-9 defenders fighting for 4 slots
2 February 2025 at 11:12 am #204993We don’t need another defender. We’ve got that Josh Robinson to come in at right back and then Sibbick will be a centre back reserve.
I’ve heard good things about Kristian Sekulerac at Fulham. Interestingly, his grandad was a Red Star Belgrade club legend, Dragoslav Sekulerac, who played for them in the 50s. A number 10 in the playmaker mould of the likes of Gheorge Hagi or Zidane. So the lad is from great pedigree. Not sure how good he is, but I’d like us to have a look.
I’d love us to bring a striker in tomorrow, but I’ll equally be as happy if the window closes and we haven’t lost anybody else this window.
