No great fan of them, but what their supporters have had to put up with has been a disgrace.
Finally Owen Oyston has been thrown off the board.
A good day for them, and for football in general, proving that clubs are really the fans’, not the owners’.25 February 2019 at 11:52 pm #176666I was listening to that utter arse Simon Jordan on TalkSport the other week when the court case found in favour of the other guys case
Jordan was saying that whilst they’re no doubt glad to see the back of Oyston, the Blackpool fans shouldn’t celebrate to early – can’t remember what state they’ve been put in (receivership or administration) but said not only do they have the possibility of a points deduction but the Lithuanian/Latvia guy has gone down this route to get back the money he is owed & not some valiant crusade on behalf of the supporters
With that in mind, the only way he’ll get his money is by selling off all or most of their assets of any value which is obviously players, stadium, training ground or whatever
Now an arse he may be but he knows his onions about club ownership and administration/receivership having been involved twice and he said he couldn’t see any way it would end well for the supporters
I hope he’s wrong26 February 2019 at 12:00 am #176667Never had a problem with them personally and as you say they have had it rough.
Be great if there is a full house at their next game now.

I hope he’s wrongIt’s possible the guy may just take the club and ground as payment for what he’s owed.
Did this fella actually put much in in the first place to be owed so much by Oyston?
There will be a cracking crowd for their next game Oyston free.26 February 2019 at 9:18 pm #176679Most Blackpool fans will be as happy as Larry just to see the back of him no matter what the consiquences may be.
Never forget, when these type of owners are long gone and kicking up the daisies the football club will still be chugging away in some capacity.
You only need to look at Wimbledon for the blueprint on how it’s done27 February 2019 at 10:49 am #176688It’s possible the guy may just take the club and ground as payment for what he’s owed.

I used to know someone who worked quite high up at Blackpool and he told me some proper horror stories about how it was being run quite some time before it came publicOn the plus side from the noises he’s making & appointments he’s making the receiver seems to have the intent of keeping the club going rather than asset stripping it to get that guy his money
5 March 2019 at 1:51 am #17683011k sold for weekend :O
5 March 2019 at 11:04 am #176832Absolutely made up for them
5 March 2019 at 11:51 am #176833Full house celebrating being in the hands of the receiver. Ironic really. Wonder how much Oyston took out compared to what it all cost him.
Fans only turned against him after he took them to the Premier League and then a Championship Play Off final and didn’t get back up.
Only a fraction of those celebrating on Saturday would have spent much time at Bloomfield before Oyston re-build the ground.
Happy indeed for the real fans who followed them all the way from the lower leagues but just hope something decent returns after the receiver sorts things out. There’s still a rocky road to manoeuvre. Still Saturday marks a start for them so good luck to them.5 March 2019 at 12:35 pm #176834Is this a first? People in agreement and being civil to each other?! My mate is going after boycotting for ages, he is delighted.
6 March 2019 at 2:09 am #176875We will be playing them next season especially with our away record this season.
