6 August 2020 at 6:21 pm #188583Very sad, more to come I am sure
6 August 2020 at 7:14 pm #188585As long as the PL elite are all ok (all with more debts than we had)
6 August 2020 at 7:49 pm #188586Time the bent corrupted efl was dragged to the streets and showed it’s not all about the elite teams it’s about small clubs with genuine fans.

I agree Bluey, football used to be built from the bottom up; now it’s all about the top down (trouble is, not much filters down !) I hate this modern football era !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6 August 2020 at 10:59 pm #188588Hopefully, when the PL implodes on-itself, the EFL will have to go begging,
cap-in-hand to the NWCL.7 August 2020 at 6:15 am #188589The Corona virus has done nothing more than strengthen the Premierships money making machine with match day goe’rs now watching from home.
Clubs that rely on match day need help from the top. Rescue packages need to be out in place or else lower league football, the life blood of the sport will be gone forever.
Droylesden FC is the reason I fear for us. Who would take on a busines with little or no weekly income ?. A business needs money flow and not just out.
Some L2 clubs have 12 players and players are taking up day jobs. I just struggle to get my head round who’s going to be willing to fund us and for the foreseeable future. They’ll have to be rotten rich, stupid daft or hopefully both
But sometimes players don’t help themselves. This is going to happen everywhere, players putting themselves in front of clubs and communities

7 August 2020 at 12:04 pm #188598Nobody likes a pay cut, but these players had better beware, the more clubs that go to the wall, the less chance they have of getting a decent wage for playing football.
The clubs that do survive, even at non-league level, will have a huge pool of players to choose from, the ones that don’t get a contract will have to play in the local amateur league.
