If these reports are true then Mr Whelan is playing a blinder.The Yanks are holding everyone to ransom with their comedy pursuit of Dalgleish,s successor.I dont blame him one bit and Bobby should afford Mr Whelan the same respect he has always had from his Chairman.Liverpool have become a joke under these Mickey Mouse owners and i dont see why we should suffer at the hands of cretins who know jack sh1t about football.Make your mind up Bobby for the good of WAFC.
Here we go again, how has Whelan changed his mind???. :ohmy:
These are the noises being made by Whelan from day one.
– Martinez in his opinion is the best young manger in Europe and will one day manage a big club.
– He will not step in the way of Bobby if a big club comes calling.
– Liverpool have asked for permission to speak with Martinez
– Martinez flies out to miami from Barbados to speak met with Liverpool owners
– Whelan confirms that Bobby has been offered the job, but there is an issue about Bobby wanting full control of the playing side and they want a Director football.
– Bobby has taken a few days to consider the offer and perhaps hold further talks.
– Whelan then says Bobby is returning from Barbados to meet with Liverpool again tomorrow. At this meeting, as Whelan has said, they will discuss Bobby’s role and that of the director of football to see if there is any compromise.
– Whelan then says that he wants a decision by Thursday so that he can plan for a new manager if Bobby goes.
– All through the above developments DW has reiterated that he would love Bobby to stay at Wigan.
That’s what’s come out of the horses mouth to SSN and to WISH FM. There have been no press releases by anyone else at the club only to confirm that there are no plans to hold a press conference at the DW tomorrow.
Where in all that has DW changed his mind? :huh:

What a journey!Completely with JR on this one – the only thing he has slightly changed his mind on is that he was giving Roberto a week from coming back to make his mind up – but that was before it was known he had gone to Miami to speak with the owners.
No-one has ever said there will be a press conference tomorrow (at least no-one in a position to officially say so), and as said above DW has no wish to wait until LFC get round to making their minds up. He has a manager under contract and, although he is willing ot release him, he will not be messed about.
If LFC want him, then offer him the job and DW can get a new manager in quickly. If not, then let us get on with planning purchases for next season.

A bit of jealousy rearing it’s head there, I think!- Martinez flies out to miami from Barbados to speak met with Liverpool ownersNo wonder they can’t come to any kind of conclusion if they’re speaking in met. Try English, or Spanish even. That should do the trick.
I can understand Mr Whelan playing hardball because he can probably see the transfer activity that is occuring, and realises he doesn’t want to be missing out on potential targets whilst all this debate is occuring.
Even if Martinez decides to stay, the process is distracting him from having input on transfers. Not to say that he would do this whilst on holiday but nevertheless his mind cannot be completely focussed on Wigan whilst entertaining the thought of moving away.
I hope either way that soon we can let the dust settle and start concentrating on preparing for our 8th season in the Premier league.

In the Prem alone 87 players have already been released and some clubs have already brought players in. So I think that this business needs sorting pronto then we can get involved in further strengthening the squad !
