why should i pay 5 dabs for a service i am not going to use?. Did the club think about the supporters club when they moved you out of there and had their corporate rubbish in place?

There were underlying reasons for the move and they were made by a person not at the Club anymore.

Don’t hold me to it, but I am pretty certain the £1 door charge will also be in place and so if you don’t feel that you will use the Club more than four more times over the next season – your £5 would cover WHU and ALL next seaosn – there is an option.

FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

Now THAT sounds like a bloody good deal to me & a fiver isn’t exactly going to break the bank is it? Jay I take it the bar prices are subsidised.

why don’t they just throw the doors open to season ticket holders?

Why should they? If you want to go in, pay your fiver. If you don’t, don’t bother.

or we could just pay £1 on the door as it says for non members but does this mean we still can not use the bar?. if so every time you get a drink the bar staff demand to see your membership card( hardly likely). i wait with baited breath NOT for a sarcastic come back from one of the usual suspects

        I give in…..

Once you’ve paid your fiver (or pound for those that don’t give a damn about a Wigan Athletic instution), you can use the bar to you hearts content, its prices are its prices though….. We don’t have enough people paying their fivers to be able to subsidise the bar :naughty: :shhh: :violin:

Apologies Jay I worded it wrong.
I was just enquiring if the prices are the same or cheaper than inside the ground. If they are even slightly cheaper then you WILL make the £5 back & more over the course of the season.
Not that it should make any difference because as you have pointed out, £5 for the season gives you so much for your money.

The £5 allows us to give good value coach travel, put entertainment on evry now and then and generally to try and make the football experience a better one for our members, remember we don’t make any money (especially when there are 23 people on a 52 seater coach).

We are currently trying to convert the old match archive on to DVD, which is a costly exercise, so that we can show a retro game after the match has finished.

Anyway, the door charge of a pound was nothing to do with the Club, it was thought up so that some donations could go to The Empty Seats charity on top of what we were giving, it is certainly not compulsary, just a way of us trying to raise more money for them.

They will have CD’s on sale both before and after the game…..

I’m getting worried now! I paid for my ticket for the end of season do on Monday, but there seems to be an implication here that you won’t get in, unless you’re a Supporters Club member? Is this true? I know pre-match you’re supposed to be a member to get in, but the website didn’t mention needing to be a member to get a ticket. Am I going to have to pay for membership as well as the £2.75 I’ve already paid to get in? Is this why I’ve neither received my ticket yet nor had any contact from them confirming how I will get it? (I’ve got my Paypal payment e-mail).

” They get safe travel on coaches ”

What do you mean they get safe travel ???

Also, lets not forget that although this is a supporters bar it’s charging the prices of a corporate bar at over £3 a pint so not cheap when you consider the prices just over canal bridge plus a much better pint.
Let’s get real and it will be interesting to see how many go in if we go down.
Sorry but the supportes club are getting like the club and trying to get money out of fans wherever possible.

Safe travel in that the coaches are properly organised and have the full backing of Wigan Athletic Football Club and the police.

The Supporters Club has made a loss for at least the last two seasons – before that the best they would have done is break even, seeing as they are a non-profit making association, explain your very RASH, UNRESEARCHED and UNTRUE statement about their finances.

I won’t hold my breathe, as there is absolutely nothing to back up what you have said and I suggest you take it back.

Why take it back and stop getting all shirty and calm down.
So you saying the price of beer isn’t over £3, which does make quite a bit of money.
Your saying your not charging people to use to use this facility.
Why doesn’t the club give the supporters club a small percentage on the money taken over the bar, that way the club is helping the supporters club.
I thought the football club were opening this facility to SEASON TICKET HOLDERS to use before the games and not exclusive to the supporters club so why you charging people who don’t want to use the safe coaches for use of the facility.
Also, I know this sounds stupid but why didn’t the person ordering the coach not ask for a smaller coach as you can get 25 -27 and even 36 seater coaches, surely 29 people just didn’t turn up on the day and you knew about the numbers before hand. I’ve ran coaches and done this on several occassions and yes lost money.
What happens when you do get full coaches surely your not dividing the cost of the coach by 52, if you are then your being ripped off seeing the prices you charge.
Everything will change at Wigan next season when crowds aren’t as big plus people stop going as in lower division.
Get real if you think we won’t be. RANT OVER WITH.
