Must admit, this one sneaked up on me a bit. Didn’t have it in the diary!

San MarinoTournament up to 24 teams from 16. So France in as hosts, top 2 in the groups through, plus the best 3rd place. The other 8 3rd places play offs.
Seriously, if we can’t finish in the top 2 in that group, there really is no hope for our national side :ohmy:
You would think so our multi-millionaire footballers seem to busy counting cash rather than giving 100% for there country

I gave up going to England games after the old members club was disbanded tho obviously still want us to do well. I never got the theory that we must play like the Europeans it never did Utd any harm playing all out attack British style. After all the have won a few cups
They need to revam European football and create interesting games. Create 2 or 3 leagues, where the top group play for seeding at major championships, lower seeds play for the playoff places and promotion.
This way we get to see the big teams play and people will keep interested, rather than the two games every 2 years and then we get knocked out of the euro’s/world cup.
Why should the top revenue earners pay for football development in eastern europe and such like by playing meaningless games. Its not as though they vote for us in the Eurovision….
In club competitions, UEFA weed out minor teams in the qualifying rounds. They should do the same in international competitions.
The smaller nations could be in a group of their own, where they could play teams of a similar standard.
The group winner could meet a runner up from a stronger league in a play off for a place in the later competition.
Euros are a joke and this group is about as inspiring as a night out in Bolton !
Was far better when it was limited to eight teams – two groups then straight to the semis then the final.
Most of the games will be mismatches and the tournament full of meaningless games for the first two weeks until they have cleared out the minnows.
International football ceased to have any value years ago in my opinion and it doesn’t mean as much to play for your country as it did before money spoiled the game and even hype can’t make it interesting anymore.
Put the top seeds straight in and let the minnows fight for the rest of the places might make it interesting and give teams like Scotland,Wales and Northern Ireland a bigger chance of qualifying and at least make the qualifiers more interesting.
