I bet the Premiership and la liga are cacking themselves now some big guns have started talking. As well as Celtic, officials from Ajax, Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Feyenoord, Malmo FF, PSV Eindhoven, Rangers, and Rosenborg say that the formation of such a competition could lead to the clubs involved leaving their national leagues.
Would this be a good or bad thing? Good if the big boys joined it and the Greed League lost some of its glamour, money and oveseas players. Bad?… urm can’t think of one.
Rangers and Celtic ?? Would they even get in a European Super League? May do if there was a multi league tiered system. The logistics of this would take a bit of working out because who would be the elite clubs that formed this and could there be promotion in and out of this set up.
Might get Mr Whelan going again with a dream of taking Wigan Athletic to the European Super League. How he was scoffed at when he said that about the Premier League and then one May afternoon against Reading….
