I can’t believe they are still trying to persist with this when it is broadly felt that it is unpopular with fans and will tear national leagues apart.
In this time surely we should be looking at how best to preserve our national leagues and address the broadening gap between the richest and the rest, not looking to take even more money away from them to feed the big 6, 8 or whatever it is these days.
It will always be the case that the big clubs will look to get bigger, not even considering what it will do to all the clubs. Sad thing is the so called fans of these clubs will still buy the passes that gets them to watch their illustrious team play on TV
Which 6 would be ‘chosen’, from what I understand, six clubs would be offered up to £310 million each by JP Morgan to join the breakaway league and could earn as much as £213 million a season from it. That is just ridiculous, would there be relegation/promotion or will it take the shape of the US franchising system?????
