Everton are playing Rapid Vienna at the moment and the Everton fans on twitter are going mad about tactics, how bad the defending is, why are they passing from side to side at the back and letting rapid push them back so easily, and the best one —-why do they keep taking short corners and losing possession or passing it back to their own half when they have brought players up.
One thing they seem to be ok with is Robles who has made a string of saves.

14 July 2013 at 11:32 pm #117810The Roberto way is an acquired taste, that’s for sure.
I’ll be as fascinated to see Everton play that way as I was to see us try it.

I fear he make not get the tenure he did with us, I just can’t see Everton fans being as patient as Wigan fans were with him.

The only thing is that I think the players he now has may be quicker to learn what the actual idea is. Ours took quite some time before the penny dropped (and in some cases never did).
15 July 2013 at 1:45 am #117813I like the comment, “Jags will have to adapt to a passing game”.
A current England centre-back that, “will have to adapt to a passing game”.
Maybe that’s why Alcaraz is at Everton and England might not be going to Brazil.
15 July 2013 at 2:21 am #117816Were Wigan fans patient or did most realise Whelan was going to be patient?

15 July 2013 at 2:26 am #117817Mate of mine is a Swansea an and is absolutely livid about them being linked with Di Santo since West Brom pulled out. With a goal record of one in eleven I’m amazed anybody could want to sign him at the top level. Must be some decent agents about!
15 July 2013 at 3:24 am #117818I think it’s funny, I mean come on, Who doesn’t think this is funny?
I am so looking forward to watching Everton fail, Not out of hate for Martinez but for the way he has contradicted everything he did and said here. He has the audacity to have a go at Moyes for bidding for Baines and takes our team apart. Good job Coyle is onto it and making astute signings. We have a better side now at this current moment than Martinez ever had and we have dropped down a division.
Fortune looked awesome last night, Thinking of all the crap strikers Bob signed, It’s a breath of fresh air to see someone giving it blood and thunder to get the ball into the net.
Every Everton message board i have been on is awash with defensive questions and passing it about in their own half queries. We are in a completely new era now and can’t wait for the season to get started.
15 July 2013 at 4:06 am #117819The new team should certainly perform better in the Championship than the old one did in the Premier League.
But I’m not yet convinced that we have replaced Figueroa, Alcaraz and Kone with better players.
How do you think the team will do at Wembley against Premier League opposition?

Yep welcome to the real world Blue Noses. Their first game away at Norwich will be a real eye opener I’m sure.

well way i see it if we lose 3-0 its a improvement 6-0 and its back to the drawing board
after our annual 5-0 wuppings under el clueless against man u
15 July 2013 at 1:41 pm #117824Anything less than a top 8 for Everton and it’s P45 time for Martinez. This season will be about the toughest Prem season there is with average clubs paying 10 million and above for players .
Good start , lost 2-1 I can see a Steve Bruce special happening after he left us…
