£27 to see my team play in a quarter final in a local derby against a club as big as Everton seems reasonable in my opinion.

Yes, the ground is horrible and yes, the tickets are dearer than at Macclesfield and Huddersfield but 90 mins away from Wembley @ £27 for season ticket holders is hardly a rip off.

wait till you see were your sat for £27 you might have a change of opinion.and what about those who aint a season ticket holder ? as long as there’s folk like you willing to pay anything to watch football then we’ll always get screwed.[/quote]

I have been to Everton away every season since we reached the PL so I know exactly what the view is like.

I wouldn’t even think twice about paying £30 (ish) for a ticket to see my team in the quarter final of the FA Cup. Too many tight tw@ts watch our club.

        My ten penneth…..

Fair play to anybody who wants to pay £27-£35 for this game, and has the ability to, through having such a ‘disposable income’.

I won’t be joining you, however, due to a few reasons. One being my car tax and insurance is due this Month, and two being I have a number of other more pressing payments due. Priorities, I’m afraid.

For me to go to Goodison, would cost me, say £30 for the ticket (not sure which section I would go for, Paddock probably, as Upper Bullens has pillars obstructing views) Transport via Ormskirk on the train would cost me about £10. I would have to have something to eat, and would more than likely have about 5 pints around County Road. Say £25 for food and drink to be on safe side.

        Ticket £30 + £10 travel + £25 food and drink = a very easily spent £65.

At the end of the day…..I can’t afford it. Not with the other expense I have coming up…..and like a mate of mine said “You’d be better saving your money for if you get to the semi”. He could be right. Skinting yourself for a trip to Wembley is better than skinting yourself on a trip to Goodison.

And also, I begrudge giving Everton FC my money…..who will probably come back in the summer and offer something paltry for McCarthy. (They stole Baines off us, didn’t they? All things considered)

All I will say is, thank god for ITV, and the fact it’s on live. A few bottles of Flensburger Pilsener, some cheap snacks from Asda and it’ll be a good un.

Being there to watch Wigan Athletic walk out in the FA Cup Quarter Final for only the second time in our 80 year history PRICELESS.

Yes you can save your money for Wembley but what if this is the end of the road and we never make it here again? I understand people have other priorities and tbh I probably can’t afford it, but there isn’t a chance in hell I’m missing it.

I live in the real world, mate. I also have two kids to clothe and feed.

Besides, I was there at our FIRST FA Cup quarter final V Leeds in ’87.

All these people desperate to give good money to Everton FC…..must be on good wages some of you…..

As I’ve said, I understand that people have other priorities and that is fair enough of course. My personal choice is that I’ll be there. The last time we got this far I was 8 month old.

BTW, the money from cup games is split between both clubs and the FA.

In matches played in the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Rounds of the Competition
Proper, the net gate receipts of each match shall be divided as follows:
45% to each Club competing in the match.
              10% to the Pool.

So actually, I’m giving my money to WAFC. Another reason to go ;)

I am guessing, though I might be wrong, that you don’t yet have kids to clothe and feed though? I went away on a regular basis up until becoming a father. I would now rather spend time with my kids, to be honest.

Home games are fine, they have season tickets with me.

If Wigan win….it’ll be very moody outside of Goodison, and if they win, they won’t do it quiet and graciously….will be right in our fans faces, gloating.

So no, not a place or day to take the kids.
