And how much stick would Bob get if he put out most of the first team in the cup and a few of them got injured? Plenty, I would think.

What if we somehow we get to the final using the 2nd string players, would he play those that got us there.
It would be strange to see a reserve side trying to compete in the FA Cup Final?13 February 2013 at 3:22 am #103250If he plays the fringe players, and they progress through, will he play the first choice eleven in the QF?

From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!13 February 2013 at 11:14 am #103252I expect Martinez to select three or four regular first team players, and at least one in defence. Something like this;
Al Habsi
Scharner Golobart Figueroa
Stam Jones McArthur Espinoza
Henriquez Gomez McManamanDi Santo and Kone on the bench to provide help, if necessary, for a win.

Quite happy with that side. I’d possibly swap Figueroa with someone like Lopez and push him into the LWB role with Espinoza moving inside to give McArthur a rest.
14 February 2013 at 3:28 am #103333give McArthur a rest.
expect complaints from the darkside

14 February 2013 at 9:56 pm #103367The FA should have made the national arena accessible to all fans by building it in a central location – somewhere in the Midlands. It’s unfair to require fans from the north to travel to club – and national – events in London. Unless the FA are prepared to include travel in the cost of a ticket!
All the play offs now go to Wembley – but in 2012 there was only one London team;
Blackpool v West Ham United
Huddersfield Town v Sheffield United
Cheltenham Town v Crewe Alexandra
Luton Town v York CityEven the Championship play off did not fill Wembley. Blackpool did not sell all their tickets – though West Ham obviously wanted more. The League One play off attracted 52,100 – perhaps more would have gone to Old Trafford. I’m sure Cheltenham and Crewe fans, and Luton and York fans, would have enjoyed a trip to the Midlands – Nottingham, Derby or Aston Villa would be candidates.
In 2012, a Wembley FA Cup semi-final for Tottenham v Chelsea suited the fans. It did not suit the fans for other game Liverpool v Everton. The year before, Manchester City played Manchester United and Bolton played Stoke.
The FA operate Wembley for their own financial benefit, not for the convenience of the fans. I am reluctant to add to their coffers.
