Now is the perfect time to bombard the FA with emails and letters about the poor refereeing we’ve had to put up with, after a win where we were denied game changing decisions once again, doesn’t come across as sour grapes if we complain now !

Yes it does. It will achieve nothing.

There have been some bad decisions, but to bomb the FA headquarters is a little bit of an over reaction. What’s the plan? Loan a squadron of B52s from the yanks (care of sudworth as he is connected you know, moving in such business circles) and blitz it? Or an intercontinental cruise missile, fired from space?

Personally, I would simply enjoy the three points today, and laugh at the refs at every poor decision. Besides, if you go ahead you could well be looking at a three year stretch in hindley jail, or a platt laz hotel.

Cheer up you old bugger, bring on united next, they’re sh1t as well!

Ref in the Hudderfield v Owls game booked the same player twice and did not send him off OOPS

I think Whelan should come out with one off his legend statements against the refs …he can afford it.

In RL they have a video ref and when a dodgy decision happens the field ref makes the sign of a television and the incident is decided by him.
It doesn’t seem to ruin the flow of a game and if anything gives it a bit of drama and would be perfect for top flight football. If we had a video ref we would have had two penalties yesterday but we all know the powers that be wont sanction it.

Im supprised he has’nt ther should be summat done last 3 games we could have five penalties and other decisions against us,If we keep scoreing goals like yesterday wat will they do next? chalk em off like the good goal we score against man u last year.surely we could do a video of all the ref cockups to the F.A and see what reply we get. it should’nt get ignored.

Not been funny, but you dont need video ref for the 2 pen decisions yesterday, the 2nd 1 where ireland takes maloney out the ref is looking streight at it

I think you DO if the Cnut doesn’t give it and the process works well in tennis and RL so why not have it?
the refs are scared to death of giving big decisions in a split second as all the pundits slaughter them if they get it wrong and they could potentially lose their job.
A video ref would take that pressure away and would work well with the all the technology available today. The game may be held up here and there but we are talking millions and millions of pounds at the end of the day being lost if a club gets relegated.
bring it in as soon as possible I say!

No you missed my point, that on maloney was so blatent every man and his dog knew it was a penalty, even villa fans in the pub after said they had got out of jail,so why not the ref, they wont bring goal line tech in so they wont bring in video ref,and whats to say that they will use it, they may just wave play on

They will never use a video ref for decisions that are subjective to interpretation..it will only ever be used to assist him not to over-rule.

The difference in rugby (and tennis, cricket, nfl etc) is that the game is stopped at the time of the incident and a video ref can be used.

In football with goal line incidents and the Maloney one at Villa, the game carries on and could carry on for 4 minutes as it did against Arsenal with the Di Santo incident. All that time would have to be replayed if the official went back and awarded a penalty so we’d be there all night. It just wouldn’t work.

The only technology that football can use is for goal line incidents and it MUST be instant.

I was thinking the same recently, but surely the ref could just stop the game if it’s a big decision. Just as he can if there’s a serious injury.
