Man City can breathe a sigh of relief… we got Leicester
2 December 2019 at 11:29 pm #182536Man City can breathe a sigh of relief… we got LeicesterA bye for the foxes methinks, no heroics looking likely this season.
2 December 2019 at 11:35 pm #182537Was hoping for a big home draw against one of the big guns.
Would possibly have fired up some of our half arsed players into some semblance of a performance beforehand I’m sure.
No disrespect to Leicester City but they are surely the most unfashionable team to ever grace the top four for any period of time so a draw with them especially away hardly gets the Adrenalin going.
Never mind , move on and all that3 December 2019 at 12:34 am #182540Leicester will be concentrating on the league won’t they?
And we’ll be miles adrift at the bottom so we can concentrate on winning the cup and being relegated….twice!
3 December 2019 at 12:49 am #182543We will get smashed 6 nil.
3 December 2019 at 1:02 am #1825442 reserve sides and a drab 2 or 3 nil defeat
3 December 2019 at 1:06 am #182545If its anything like West Brom last season take a blow up neck pillow.
No doubt cook will play Gelhardt then say,“I told you he weren’t ready”
3 December 2019 at 4:26 am #182554At least we can have a ‘Bonus Week” on the Guess the gate comp’ without a Saturday being ruined too much by having to watch them.
Hands up who’s going to go :S
3 December 2019 at 10:07 am #182556Can’t see us taking up our 10% allocation like we did at Blackburn 22 years ago.
3 December 2019 at 1:16 pm #182562Was it really that long ago? Wow.
Went with my dad and my then bird as well, an Everton ST holder. They beat us easily, although we made a late fight.
Just having flashbacks to fans bemoaning John Deehans negative tactics, and the fact we had David Lee and David Lowe on the bench. When both came on late, we started fighting and playing better, but too late when you are 4 nil down.
Great support though.
3 December 2019 at 2:21 pm #182565Wasn’t the away attendance 5300?
Have that in my memory bank I’m sure , poor performance until the subs were made.
At least Deehan made good subs unlike some I could mention.3 December 2019 at 2:27 pm #182566No disrespect to Leicester City but they are surely the most unfashionable team to ever grace the top four for any period of timeNo disrespect, but are you seriously saying Wigan’s spell in the top 4 in Oct/Nov 2005 was more fashionable than Leicester?

At least Deehan made good subs unlike some I could mention. We had a lot in the home stands as well that day, should have had a penalty too to make it 4-3.

At least Deehan made good subs unlike some I could mention.A fraction of the support we took to Goodison circa 81. Now that was some away following.

Our spell in the top four WAS more fashionable and remarkable yes given the size of Latics to them and also as a club situated in the North West heartland of football compared toa club in a city.
The east midlands is hardly a hotbed is it??
they are longer term top four incumbents than we have ever been or were and also Premier league winners.
That said they are still not a name that trips off the tongue or fills you with excitement are they?
How many would be on if we played them up here?
No more than 6000 id wager as it will mostly likely be two reserve teams playing each other. -
