FAcebook/Last Night

has anyone else got Wigan Athletic as a fan page on Facebook? And if so did you see the rant they had slagging off the fans last night after the game? It was ridiculous, i wrote a response but it wouldn’t let me post it. Seeing as i spent a bit of time writing this i thought i’d put it here and see if anyone else agrees with what i’ve written!!

“That post last night was ridiculous!! Wigan Athletic have given each and every player they sign the idea of ‘become good here and we’ll sell you to a bigger team.’ Every player that comes to us now is using us as a stepping stone to something bigger and NOTHING else. I wouldn’t say there is one player at Wigan now who really loves the club. The last one to go was probably Baines or Bullard! We’ve become a team of mercenaries who won’t bother playing when it’s against a team like Portsmouth, or should i even say Hull in a few weeks! (Anyone expecting a massive win there wil be sadly mistaken.) The reason being that no-one wants to sign for any of those teams! Bring a Liverpool, Chelsea or an Aston Villa around and of course they’ll play better, they’ll think ‘if i play well here, they might sign me!!’ Come on, i can’t be the only one to have noticed that, i bet we play better against Arsenal on Sunday too!! You talk about no-one singing, and slagging them off, can you tell me what exactly we had to cheer about last night? There was a lot more to slag off than cheer about anyway!! It shouldn’t matter whether or not we sing or cheer or whatever, since when is the performance on the pitch DEPENDANT on the fans turning up and cheering? Is the £20,000 a week not enough motivation for them? Do you go into your job and say ‘pay me my money now and THEN i’ll do the work?’ Of course not. The problem is simply that we deserve to be where we are this season! On performance and on team mentality. If they want to get anywhere next season (as i don’t believe we’ll go down!) They need to STOP bringing in players in order to make them big and sell them on. They need players who want to play for US, not ones who see us as a means to an end and for Christ’s sake stop playing Rodallega on the LEFT!!! Did anyone else notice how many times he hit one with his left and it flew wide? Or N’Zogbia hit one with his right and the same happened? It’s like watching McCulloch on the Left again!!! The only good thing to come out of last night was McCarthy, he played well and fought for everything!! Other than that the simple fact is we are total garbage!! The problem with the team, is the TEAM, not the fans!! Before anyone starts questioning me, i have been watching Wigan since i was 5 years old, i was there when we were knocked out of the FA Cup by Canvey Island, i was there in the Springfield Park days, I’ve had a season ticket since the first year in the JJB and went to most games before then. I bleed blue just as much as any other TRUE latics fan but i refuse to cheer something that doesn’t deserve cheering!”
