7 February 2019 at 1:15 am #176097Not much can be said to the invisible man really and thats if your question gets through the censorship. All they need to do is qoute the figures that came out yesterday.
Was it a coincidence that the forum was set up to take place after the annoucement of the balance sheet?7 February 2019 at 11:34 am #176105I usually go to these but couldn’t last night. Was anything said about any if the youngsters being close to being called into the first team squad?
7 February 2019 at 1:49 pm #176109Cooky said a few of the young lads were very exciting prospects but it was difficult to get them in the team at present although he said if we get to a place of safety he would like to blood a few
7 February 2019 at 3:35 pm #176112It was pretty good I thought.
7 February 2019 at 7:43 pm #176114So what else was discussed?
7 February 2019 at 9:02 pm #176116This threads quieter than the new owners.
Didn’t go myself but surely something exciting, encouraging, controversial or interesting was said?7 February 2019 at 11:32 pm #176117This threads quieter than the new owners.
Didn’t go myself but surely something exciting, encouraging, controversial or interesting was said? Why?
Surely the fact that things are ticking over nicely, and that view is upheld by those who went, should be a cause for celevration.8 February 2019 at 12:31 am #176118There are videos on the latics website
9 February 2019 at 3:08 pm #1761601. They had no intention of selling Grigg. Final bid came in at 9pm just as they were planning on going home. 7 bids previously rejected. 200k to 4million in 2 weeks. Every player as his price. Even at clubs like United/Liverpool.
2. Money is available. We made two 7 figure bids but were knocked back in January.
3. Some “exciting” news regarding our youth traing facilities will be announced in the near future. We want our youth teams to be playing against better quality opposition. We’ve out grown the current level. We want to be a tier 2 youth development.
4. New owners looking at improving match day experience. Didn’t go into to much detail.
5. We’ve been talking to Powell’s representatives since the summer. Sounds like he’s keeping his options open. My own opinion on this is, we can’t yet offer him what he is looking for. Securing championship survival might help. But my gut feeling is he’ll leave in the summer.
6. Joe Gelhardt mentioned. Cook described him as an exceptional talent. Aswell as some others. Can’t give them opportunities with survival still on the line.
7. 6000 season ticket holders last season, 7000 season ticket holders this year. Ticket prices mentioned. But I got the impression from Jonathan Jackson that reducing prices doesn’t have an upsurge in numbers as you’d expect.
My opinion – We could open up the turnstiles and let people in for free and we’d still get 9000 on.
9 February 2019 at 5:39 pm #176161Thanks for that.
Bit more than things ticking along nicely good post. -
