4000 fans allowed back in from next week would have been just what we needed.
Sadly, we will probably be tier 3 so get none.
24 November 2020 at 6:35 am #190037It gets reviewed every 14 days, so if you all really want to get back in the stadium, do what you have been told to do for the last 3 months – stay the fuck inside.
Wigan’s covid rate has been ridiculously high since mid-September.
24 November 2020 at 6:56 am #190038All the reason high areas need to be given the vaccine first and get it lowered so we can come down the tier and get back in the ground and pubs.
24 November 2020 at 8:54 am #190041I have a feeling my son & I wont be allowed to come over from Runcorn, as quite rightly, the locals of wigan should be given first refusal. If I am allowed in then great!

Absolutely no social distancing going on in Wigan. Supermarkets are still a family day out rather than 1 person per household and as for only being able to meet 1 other person
24 November 2020 at 9:49 am #190045It should be either all clubs can have crowds back or none can. It’s bound to cause arguments.Clubs will claim it’s an unfair advantage ,and rightly so ,if they can’t have crowds in and other clubs can.

Absolutely Phoenix. It compromises the integrity of the league (whichever division) when some clubs can have fans back and some not.
Just imagine the trouble if ManUre (in Trafford borough) were allowed 2000 in and City (in Manc) were not?24 November 2020 at 10:41 am #190048So if the near impossibility happens and we were allowed 2000 back, how would you go about allocating tickets?
My suggestion would be to use last season’s season ticket holder list (7500 or so??) as the starting point. So all ST holders could apply to enter a ballot for the first match. 2000 get lucky and the other 5500 miss out. Next match the first 2000 not eligible to enter, then it’s 2000 out of the remaining 5500 and so on until all ST’s (who want to enter the ballot) have been once. On the 4th round, put any spare seats on open sale, then the process starts again.
Any other suggestions?
24 November 2020 at 10:48 am #190050Pretty much that Leyland.
ST holders all in a ballot and pull out the first 2000 names. If they all want one then job done, if not then draw again.
24 November 2020 at 3:51 pm #190056How about allocating seats to season ticket holders in alphabetical order, that way fans from the same household could attend the match together.

Might work, but would the numbers add up ok?
Must admit as a “single” ST holder I’d not reckoned on the family groups of ST holders….so if there’s a family group of say 2 adults and 2 kids each with ST’s then they should be able to enter the ballot as a linked group. When any one of the 4 gets picked, the other 3 automatically get tickets for that game (and obviously all 4 are then removed for the next 3 ballots).
Talking to a mate earlier who reckoned it should be a straight ballot every match ie the first 2000 each time….he thought that was a great idea until I asked if he was ok with me being drawn out 4 games running and him not at all!!
No easy answer is there….reckon we’ll be in Tier 3 all season anyway so hypothetical
24 November 2020 at 5:40 pm #190058Who the fuck wants to go to the stadium to watch that shite and the people wearing the shirt that call themselves professional footballers? Its bloody hard enough watching it online as it is, its a NO from me i’m afraid!
Fuck the EFL
24 November 2020 at 6:34 pm #19005975% of them weren’t professional footballers before this season

Given the chance I would go in a heartbeat, it’s called being a Latics fan. The club and players need whatever support we can give them.
24 November 2020 at 7:02 pm #190061I’m surprised that anyone expected the results this season to be any different.
Well, I say that, I’m not actually knowing how some of our fans operate.
