what the feck was that ref playing at should of sent at least three wiggin players off and I only watched last half hour and to think some of the shyte we have had to put up with at the DW this season is he an warrior season ticket holder or what :P
6 February 2015 at 3:21 pm #139201Ha ha.
He made a rod for his own back sending their player off in the first half so obviously everyone wanted the same.
Was quite a niggly dirty game TBH and he could quite easily have sent a few off.
Think there’ll be some early season bans for a few, especially with the scuffle at the end.
Rugby refs have always been crap. You always think they’re biased against your team, but even when you watch as a neutral you wonder what the hell they’re doing.
6 February 2015 at 9:13 pm #139226Its a tough, physical game, played by tough men, and in a contact sport like that you will get more flare-ups.
That said, I agree with Egg that the standard of officials, particularly touch judges, are poor. However, as it isn’t a multi-million pound game where referees are highly paid professionals, then there is little chance of it improving.
6 February 2015 at 9:17 pm #139227I’ve never understood the principle that paying referees more will enable them to see things better. It’s not interpretation of the laws that they fall down on (both in football and rugby), just not seeing things when the rest of us see them.
6 February 2015 at 9:22 pm #139228It would improve their fitness, as their livelihood would depend on it. Im sick to death seeing knock-kneed old men with flags puffing and panting up and down the touchline, so knackered that they cant keep up with play, let alone see if someone has put a foot into touch.

15 February 2015 at 1:50 am #139533Its where you can get cheap tickets to friendly games that take precedence over 2nd rate relegation battles.
Groupons generally cost money, whereas free ticket giveaways dont.
Enjoy your Friday night 6 pointer and try not to rough up the pitch too much for the friendly on Saturday…

You may well have had a couple of valid points there, oh fickle one, if it wasn’t for the facts that next weeks grappling match isn’t a friendly, also that Warriors tickets for league matches have been on Groupon on at least 3 previous occasions that I know of, and finally if there was only one team that plays at the DW offered free tickets.

Are there league points at stake for the winners?
Do the winners get a trophy?
If the answer is “Yes” then you are right. If the answer is “no” then its a friendly game that stands for nothing in the grand scheme of things. The only “fact” is that it was considered more important than a lower league fixture against some south London side which got shunted to a Friday night.
