Jay, i read your article last night re: the FA cup farewell do on the 28 feb. Is the event open to kids as well or just adults.
secondly, do you know if the club will be having more opportunities to have your photo taken say for eg during the half term, or is it better to speak to the club.
cheers!!27 January 2014 at 1:05 pm #126426Can I redirect you here please so I am not answering the same questions everywhere.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
27 January 2014 at 3:57 pm #126434I repeat the stance I made a few months back. Are there any free to attend events fro the average working lad, who doesnt go to school or able to attend the DW Store on a Thursday afternoon before the Trophy leaves us?
Why not have it available before home games in the east or west stand where you dont have to pay any cash to have your photo taken with the trophy?
27 January 2014 at 4:16 pm #126435As I walked past the South Stand on Saturday, there was a little lad there holding the trophy above his head!
27 January 2014 at 4:25 pm #126436I am not going to go into how many times the Cup has been out and about at various times during school holidays and at weekends.
It has been in the DW Sports shop in Wigan on at least 6 Saturdays and in the Grand Arcade on a couple more, we have had in the Supporters Bar twice. We have arranged three events where WASC members can view it up close and personal.
I guarantee that there will have been more than one opportunity that you could have taken to go and see the Cup ‘free’ as you call it.
I will stand by my stance from a few months ago, we have organised this for the Members of WASC, if you are not a member then this isn’t for you.
On speaking to the Club, there doesn’t seem to be any more planned outings for the Cup other than to the Associations and Schools it has already been requested to. This may change and if it does we will post it on here and on the Supporters Club site like we have done over the past 9 months or so, to give as many people the opportunity to see it.
If you desperately want to see it in its case, it has been on show in the Main Reception of the DW Stadium for the past two months and will be there on the days that it is not in schools.
Have you tried emailing or calling anybody at the Stadium or even the Supporters Liaison Officer about it rather than putting posts like this on a forum? because if you had I am sure you would have been made aware of where and when you could see it.
It is like I say to so many people, not just on the FA Cup, if you wait for something to come to you if seldom does.

As a paid up season ticket holder there has been ample opportunities for the club to send details of viewing, yet we have heard nothing. I have had more promotional material to watch the egg chasers play.
I think it has been an absolute disgrace the lack of communication coming out of the club about the trophy and its availability. Those involved in communciations at the club should be embarassed.
I will leave it at that.
27 January 2014 at 4:49 pm #126438Jay i have just this minute taken your advice & rang the club. I was told you have to ring on a daily basis re: its whereabouts as IT has a diary. I also asked if it would be available during the half term. Again i was told to ring on the day.
Unfortunately living in the town i do i cant just drop everything to drive down to wigan, its not like i live 5-10 mins away & can just nip down. The club told me it was in the trophy cabinet today but as i said i just cant get there. I agree with edinburgh. The communication by the club is poor & there should be a better system of its whereabouts.27 January 2014 at 5:36 pm #126442How can you get fairer than ‘ring on the day’ that you are able to go and will know if it is there or not.
Or as I suggested, if you get in touch with the SLO (me) I might be able to sort something out.
As I have said, I am on here as me not as the SLO.. on here I will speak my mind.
I just can’t understand why anybody is griping about not seeing the Cup when they have had 7 or 8 months to do something about it.
I am on the mailing list for the Club and can vouch for them advertising almost every public opportunity via their newsletters.
If I lived far away and wanted to see the Cup, I would have been ringing the week before every home game until I had seen it, not waiting until 4 weeks before it goes back.
My offer is there, email me and I will see if I can get something organised for you…

Everybody else seems to have managed to get to see it easily enough. Perhaps the club is deliberately keeping just you out of the loop. I, for one, wouldn’t blame them if they did.
27 January 2014 at 10:35 pm #126459Yes but griff i haven’t in fairness cos i dont know where to find it. Everytime i’ve phoned the club it has been out somewhere.
& like i said i don’t live round the corner like most of you do.Jay, thanks for what you are doing.
27 January 2014 at 10:47 pm #126460Just replied to your email jay. Let me know if you received it. Cheers!!

Why, is that because you are a c*ck?
All I ever ask was that the club bring it to the fans on a home match day and let them see it for free, that cant be too much to ask is it. Oh yes and advertise to the fans as well that it is there.

Oh yes and advertise to the fans as well that it is there. They did that a few weeks ago (well months now technically) when they erected a special trophy cabinet in the Reception which is open each and every match day.
They even advertised it as well.
