“Wigan have been here seven years in the Premier League – seven years and they’re still struggling again just to stay out of the relegation zone. We’re in year one and we’re 10th.”

The arrogant arrogant fat fcuk. Year 1 my arse. What about West Ham’s 2 relegations in the last 10 years you tosser?
On a par with Pardew for the biggest wanker in football management. No surprise they were both chosen by one the vilest teams in English football to manage them.

I would just love it if we stayed up AND won the cup to see the smile wiped off his fat cholesterol stuffed face.

We finished 10th in year 1 and were averaging 2 points a game (champions form) around
November of that season! Add to that an appearance in a major cup final and some superb performances is far better than scrawping draws everywhere with route one football.
I’m certain no other club coming up from the lower divisions has had that kind of impact in the history of the premier league so he obviously hasn’t done his research.
Looking at the game on saturday they were lucky with a fluke goal and one of the up and at em finishes from Nolan. They will have a tougher season next year with that side and the teams coming up will be no pushovers in what is becoming an increasingly poorer division something you couldn’t say 7 years back!

You accuse Allardyce of not doing research ???

In the season you talk about you also state “I’m certain no other club coming up from the lower divisions has had that kind of impact in the history of the premier league

If you had cared to ‘do some resrearch’ you may have found that in the season you talk of West Ham, who had been promoted along with us the previous season, finished four points better off and one place above us in the league in ninth place, they also got to the FA cup final as well.

In that final against Liverpool they actually were unlucky to lose, and did not recieve the drubbing we did in our final.

Research or no research, Allardyce has no right to mouth off about us when his own team are not in Year 1 by any stretch and have been relegated once, BY US, during the 8 years we’ve been maintaining our first ever stay.

I have no argument whatsoever with that, the point I was making is don’t accuse someone of not doing any research, then make a bold statement whilst failing to do the research on that statement themselves.

Filmoss telling people they should be more positive?!?!

Deary me he got something wrong, not everyone feels the need to triple google every statement they make! If you had asked me I would have said we finished above them that season!

I didn’t mean the damp squib end I’m talking about the massive impact we had in our first 19 games that first season!
Tell me a club that has had such a start after being promoted in their first 19 games?

Was it Ipswich’s first season that they qualified for Europe?

Pretty sure they were in the top 3 for the majority of that season…

Notts Forest won the league title straight after promotion, that was a long time ago :S

I seem to remember their manager was controversial, to put it mildly

He does have a point though weve been saying this for 5 years that we need to kick on

Aye. Kick on with no money. Is kicking on not getting to biggest final in our history and getting into Europe. Would a 12th place finish beat that? Not for me it wouldn’t.

The cup success has been achieved by beating Bournemouth (League One), Macclesfield (Football Conference), Huddersfield (Championship), Everton (Premier League) and Millwall (Championship).

That’s nowhere near the quality of the weekly Premier League opposition and hardly constitutes kicking on.

Kicking on would be to establish the training ground and youth academy to maintain the first team in the Premier League. The television fees from the Premier League next season could do that.

Now we face the prospect of trips to an outpost of Eastern Europe and to Bournemouth next season. I would settle for trips to Swansea and Cardiff.
