Hopefully it will be full steam ahead and we safely steer our way out of this quarantine over the next couple of weeks. I’ve heard pubs are gearing up to opening in the next couple of weeks, travel will be are by July and we may even get to watch football at the DW Stadium well before Christmas.

That is obviously the best case scenario.

What has been the best and worst things about lockdown.

My best was realising I can actually go quite a while not thinking about work.
Worst is definitely not seeing my mates, especially at the football.

FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

Best – how communities have come together to support those who are the most vulnerable. And that I haven’t lost my plumbing skills!

Worst – how my senior management have struggled to work from home, and insisted on taking a space in the socially distant re-configured building to micro-manage whilst sat behind a 4g laptop, meaning less producers can be productive.

Best – just the general peacefulness, especially the first few weeks. Hearing the dawn chorus without background noise pollution.

Worst – not being able to meet up with friends. Not being able to play golf (that part can now can go in the good bit)

Best = Quiet roads no jams idyllic

Worse = Having to bloody work the whole time throught it.

Best – quality exercise , good sleep and the incredible blue sky ( never seen them as blue) weather, all over after my very welcome return to work last week

worst – everything else about it but most deffo the quad biking tits roving the street at all hours , litter droppers , dog crap droppers ,and the emotional TV adverts especially that dreadful one with the faux reaction of the middle aged actress pretending to look emotional when her wuss actor teenage son says she did well in the lockdown.
screaming now as i think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best – The impressive blue sky, the walks and the enjoyment gained from the awareness and beauty of the natural world around us, plus my staying at home convincing me that I will enjoy my impending retirement.

Worst – Trying to avoid serious injury from the Bradley Wiggins wannabes who think windy roads with no pavements are a race track exclusive to themselves, knob heads discarding disposable BBQs whilst still red hot and setting fire to the countryside and missing the run in to the end of the season.

Most things have been better. Less North Face Knob heads hanging around grotching and leaving shite around. No screeching kids on the streets. Less traffic, less pollution. More peace and quiet, cleaner air, great weather, more nature around.
Hope there is a bonus from the state for us who had to still work and pay tax.
Some aspects of general public have been great but we have seen some of the most ignorant, greedy selfish behaviour I can ever remember too.
Too dangerous because of safe distancing to go to work but not to clog up beaches and beauty spots sitting next to hundreds of people and leaving shite everywhere.

Best for me is clearly being home and round the family more, I am normally away a lot
Worst (in relative terms as all the death is the worse thing ) is the the lack of sport, no football and I was supposed to be going to the Grand Prix

Best- Realising how much of a commercial world we live in and how much we can waste on fancy coffee’s and things. And realising we can do without them. Saving money without wasting it on said items.

Worst- Not seeing my dad for weeks, and the fact it has left me out of work as self employed, yet not eligible for any help.

I agree with a lot of what has been said but would like to add the way the workers have carried the country through. Not only the heroic front line NHS but also the grafters who don’t get the credit.

I’ve also enjoyed a lot of gin!

On non gin drinking days I’ve been grateful to have a job to go to and this has kept me going as its still gives me a buzz to do something useful and stimulating.

I’ve really missed Latics and struggling to work out what a weekend is for. However, I still feel football is coming back too soon and for the wrong reasons.

What I don’t like is is selfish barstools who only think of themselves, making a mess and taking no responsibility for what’s left behind.

But that’s enough about the government, and others.

One last thing, thank you to all involved with this site, and my WhatsApp groups for making me laugh.

Best – Not having to go to the DW to watch the latics & suffer the anguish, nervousness, stress, frustration involved within 90 minutes of watching a bloody game of football.
