Complaining the other week about the BBC wanting to re-arrange the kick off time for the fourth qualifying round so it could be on match of the day mobile.come Apparently it would have inconvenienced their supporters. They are non league and play at 3-00 o’clock etc etc.
How come they have switched the Chesterfield tie to a Monday evening? But they did invent non league football and their name does have United and Manchester in it so they can make up the pompous self righteous shite statements whenever they want can’t they.

and soon TV will be dictating when half time is and how many half time breaks are to be taken, for more advertising. They’ll dictate who plays and when the manager argues with the ref. Capitalism has gone bonkers.

At least we beat Chesterfield …….

TV does dictate half time and has done for years. You don’t think that “you join us just in time for the start of the second half” is coincidence do you?

A TV floor manager is in the tunnel getting instructions from the producer about when the adverts have finished and he then signals the referee when the game can kick off. That’s why you sometimes see teams seemingly hanging round before the ref blows his whistle.

Because they think that football revolves around them.

They were informed by the FA that the game had been selected for live TV broadcast & would be the Monday night game.
The FC United board informed them that following consultation with their members that they refused to move it & that they did not want to charge the minimum £10 that the FA says must be charged for 1st round games.
The FA then replied that they insisted it be moved & that under competition rules they could insist on this. Likewise with the entrance fee.

They consulted with their members & then agreed that they would go ahead but that they were deeply disappointed & had contacted the FA to let them know.
On the issue of the entrance price they charged £10 but issued everyone with a £1 voucher to home & away supporters that could be redeemed against refreshments. They picked up the cost of this offer out of their own share of the gate receipts & it didn’t cost Chesterfield anything.
A lot of their fans boycotted the first half & some boycotted the whole game in protest at the move.

Thanks Tyldsley for an informative explanation. Some times things are not just what appears. Cheers.
