Well our owner who I have a huge amount of gratitude for as done it again. Not only could he have cashed in his chips before chucking in the towel but he has shown his great intensions towards the club by strengthening the squad over this window and supporting Paul Cook.
Could there be any doubts now that when the inevitable change does arrive that DW will be leaving us in safe and competent hands.
Many thanks again Dave Whelan.
Public please get down to the DW on Saturday I think the day is coming when we no longer have the big man and he deserves the support of everyone.1 February 2018 at 10:42 am #165786Well we all got our wishes; now let’s finish the job !
Are you confident ?1 February 2018 at 11:25 am #165789The guy is nothing short of a legend but there will still be some who think he has pocketed wads of cash over the years.
Be a sad day when he finally hands over the keys.
1 February 2018 at 11:27 am #165790Never been any doubt about the great man and sadly mister Wigan Athletic will soon no longer own the club. Greatest owner we could have ever had and his legacy he leaves us with is success of ridiculous levels. Thank you so very much Uncle Dave enjoy your retirement because nobody deserves it more.
1 February 2018 at 11:59 am #165792I just hope Bickymon doesn’t read this thread, we could have a scanners moment.

1 February 2018 at 6:23 pm #165805I really don’t understand the Whelan bashing. I look where we where, where we are, and what we have achieved in between and find it fantastic. If he has made a few quid from it, then good for him.
1 February 2018 at 10:24 pm #165809I really don’t understand the Whelan bashing.Me neither, is it because they used to work for him, because he’s a Tory or is it just down to plain old jealously.
What ever it is, the fact is nobody has done more for Wigan Athletic than DW, we’ll miss him when he’s gone.

Holding on to assets to make the balance sheet look good? Or maybe the new investors being very serious about taking us forward?Only time will tell donny but suspect the Wigan folk won’t turn up in their droves tomorrow.
3 February 2018 at 4:11 am #165873If it was purely about the balance sheet then selling Powell would have done wonders as cash in the hand is worth far more than an ethereal valuation.
3 February 2018 at 4:49 am #165874Whatever we are left in a position where we have a fantastic opportunity of promotion this season and hopefully with the potential new investment if that goal is achieved hopefully we can consolidate next season.

Either way I’m made up he’s stayed.
