Hasn’t there been something on these lines applicable to the premier league for years but it has gone unenforced. So what difference does it make.

Anyway without the premier league parachute we would be in the same if not worse boat than those championship clubs mentioned in the article. If we don’t go up this time DW best get himself signed up with Brabners as well.

With clubs like Cardiff and Leicester willing to go into such debt to get in the top division the only way i can see us having the finance to return will be in the next two seasons. The financial advantage that parachute payments make is huge and those that have previously been in the premier league or are prepared to break FFP rules through a wealthy owner have a tremendous advantage. Whether its really worth it when you reach the promised land is a whole different discussion!

Was going to say exactly the same. Life outside the prem should be fine for approx 2yrs. then when the money dramatically reduces we will be in the same boat.

Until they introduce some kind of salary cap then most clubs going for promotion to the prem will end up in debt. And god help them as for all the millions the prem generates it seems nearly all clubs debt gets worse once there!?
