…Thought that was our best display for a long time in the first half today. Espinoza and Gomez looked a league above the rest with Fortune linking up well.
Second half was a disjointed affair which saw our best player either going of totally knackered or carrying a slight knock and the initiative taken up by Forrest.
Rogne and Barnett looked a decent pairing winning the majority of headers and hitting the big hoof when it was needed.
Whilst Forrest will feel they deserved at least a point having camped out in our half for the second 45 mins, I feel we should have been out of sight in the first half and defended stoutly in the second.
Well done boys our season starts here! :cheer:

great first half and a dogged defensive performance in the second – 1 defeat in 5 ,how long since we were able to say that??
Much improved. I thought in particular Espinoza and Rogne stood out. They were excellent. Oh and Beausejour is 10x the left back Crainey is.
But still the moaning git next to me (not my son, the other side) was saying “Huh! Just about his level”. He is a Jordi-hater btw.

(He also has always hated Coyle, and is now constantly sniping. Today’s was quite good – “I hate managers who look as though they’re still playing and kicking every ball. They need to step back”. Last year he was moaning at Martinez for doing exactly that. Can’t we just stick them all in one stand together?)
I wasnt a jordi fan in the prem but as the above post says hes made for this league and he has impressed me my opinion mind
By the way if gomez was a new 2mill signing most people would be happy with him forget his days in the prem people
Gomez, rogne, espinoza were awesome today & fortune showed some nice touches, very unlucky not to score as his performance deserved one. But yes, gomez haters still exist in abundance especially the 2 guys who sit in front of me in E6. & i agree, they should put all the moaners in the one stand.
The team has started to come together now good performance from the boys today can’t wait for the next game and what was up with billy Davies in the second half he was like a jack in the box
Perhaps it was out of necessity, but Coyle played without Holt. In that case, he decided
to play without a winger too.Instead they had a mobile forward and played through midfield. As a result, the team was transformed!
A better defence – with Rogne and Beasejour – helped too. But they need to keep Fortune fit to play.
