Just had a reply from Wembley Stadium to say no flags above 2.5m at their widest/longest point are allowed in.

      That includes banners, etc.

Just a heads up to anyone who was thinking or taking their flag.

It’s fooked my plans up as I have a 12ft flag I was going to take with me. I had one previous which has been to 50+ grounds in the UK but at 10ft even that’s too big.

        Wembley regulations

Guidance for use of flags at Wembley Stadium

Wembley Stadium upholds the highest standards of Health and Safety. The following guidance is in line with the stadium’s grounds regulations.
        – We know that many supporters like to display flags at football matches and Wembley Stadium will always be as accommodating as possible.

        – Flags are not generally confiscated, however the obstruction of gangways, access routes, exits and entrances, health and safety signage and stairways is strictly forbidden.

        – In the event of an emergency we must have all access and exit points clear.

        – Wembley Stadium reserves the right to confiscate flags if they are very large or may compromise public safety, obscure someone’s view, a camera position or if a flag carries offensive, discriminatory or inflammatory messaging.

        – Flags more than 250cm in size at their widest or longest section will not be allowed and flagpoles greater than 1m in length will not allowed.

        – Any articles that could potentially be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety are strictly prohibited.

        – Permission must be sought in advance from the stadium and event owner to arrange use of the very large supporter flags that are designed to be passed over people’s heads. In such cases the flag must be flame retardant and the organiser bringing the flag into the stadium will need to provide the appropriate H&S certification.

FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

With the flag topic sorted now, has anyone any ideas where we stand about taking cameras into Wembley.
I know everyone seems to have mobiles with cameras on, and they couldn’t possibly stopped.
I’m a bit of a technophobe and don’t even have the most basic mobile phone let alone a camera phone.
Will I get stopped or are they not as strict these days?

If you’ve just got a normal point and click camera you’d be fine.

If it was a “professional” setup with detachable lenses etc then you wouldnt.

We used to use the same rules at JJB/DW.

Small amateur cameras are OK. Cameras with long (maybe detachable) lenses aren’t.

It’s a Panasonic Lumix FZ48, it has a powerful zoom (x24), but no detachable lenses.

                I have a cunning plan….. B)

Why don’t we make the biggest flag in the history of flags, get it cut into permissible sized sections, take all the “bits” in separately, then conveniently all meet up and hold our bits up in the correct order, a la jigsaw puzzle fashion. Hey presto!!

From a distance it will look bang on! goodpost

I hope I’m not sat near you if you’re thinking of holding your bits up.

Dont forget as well – no thermos flasks, no bottled drinks, glass or plastic, no food in plastic containers – tupperware type.

There are also reports from other fans forums of no food full stop and stewards stopping people taking in sandwiches etc., but wembley website does not confirm this.
Cartons of drinks are not allowed either but ones in foil squeezy type packs are.
It also states you can take in water in “decantable containers” can anyone shed light on what these are.
