Fantastic day out at Wembley and it is fast approaching the 25th anniversary.
For those that haven’t heard or seen, the Wigan Athletic Supporters Club is turning their Annual Dinner into a Celebration of the event and have invited along all the players that were involved that day, all but two are confirmed as coming.
Some tickets are still available for this night on Friday 19th March 2010 – deatils here
The closing date to get tickets is Saturday and so this is a heads up for anybody who hasn’t booked yet and wants to go..
This will be a great night in which you will be able to chat to players like Roy Tunks and Colin Methven (two of my childhood heroes), I’m already as giddy as hell thinking about it…. full details are on the link.
Only one thing that can be said abou that was, what an amazing day. Latics and Brentford fans just had a ball and that was about the start of a rise that saw us almost promoted three times before the dark days set in. Then Dave Whelan and like a Phoenix we rose and shoke the football world by the heels.

I will never forget some lardy bloke turning to his dad “this is the mecca of world football” followed shortly after with “how f***ing much for a pie? Rip off”

what a weekend that was . We went down on last train friday nite and never stopped drinking for 3 days , I turned out with just under £400 and went in the army on the monday with £8 left and an extra stone round my waste lol. Didnt take um long to burn that off me !
Brilliant to hear a post like the last one and how true it is and how fantastic it is to hear any tales about Latics. Fantastic to see all the young faces and tell them things like “17,000 on against Petrborough when we were non league and Peterborough were only in the 4th division at the time” (I think).
Have a great night mr posh unborn in 85 tic.
