This VIP trip to Paderborn sounds good.

I might manage the coach to Spotland.

be careful if you are going to spotland after watching the hooligan program on channel 5 last night. They have a really scary mob, all five of ’em, three are pensioners and the other two are fucking retards. :woohoo:

Ah! I think you mean that they have learning difficulties.

Perhaps we should send them an invitation to join the CL message board, they would fit in well here.

I watched some of that programme and was surprised at how scary places like Wrexham, Rochdale and Chester have become dear me what is the world coming to?
that toothless Dale ( their nickname)one was hilarious like some relic you get stood outside the old Bees Knees pub in wigan on an early Saturday night having a cig and watching his equally toothless girlfriend batter one of his mates.
The games against lower leagues teams will probably be the reserves or kids if you ask me with the serious friendlies taking place in Germany.
I won’t be wasting any petrol or time going to watch either of those.

A quick search on flights last night found Thursday to Monday flights to Hannover with flybe for £180 odd quid, could do it cheaper still with indirect flights. Plus digs £35 quid a night for decent b & b so £350 all in. Club want going on double that for 3 nights.

The clubs trip is for 8 or 9 nights and covers both games doesn’t it, they will be using either scheduled airlines or a chartered aircraft, the Hotels they will be using wont be 30 quid a night flee pits. I don’t think its a bad price for an escorted trip.

If you want a cheap trip, I have worked an itinerary, which has been sent to over 400 + who have travelled on our coaches/flights in the last year or so and posted on facebook :-

Coach to Hull leaving Wigan 5pm on Wed 23rd July for the P&O overnight ferry to Rotterdam,/Europort, luxury coach to Dusseldorf (256 Km about 3 hrs), 3 nights stay in a 3 star city centre Hotel inc. breakfast, return coach to Rotterdam, overnight ferry back to Hull on the Sunday night, ETA back in Wigan 9.00am Monday 28th July.

4 berth inside Cabins are included for both sailings, doubles for a surcharge.
              That’s 5 nights accommodation.

The cost for this is £215.00 or £41 extra if meals are required on board (evening meal and breakfast)

I also sourced a package flying from Leeds/Bradford with Jet2 to Dusseldorf on Thurs 24th at 17.45(arrive at DUS 20.15), including coach travel from Wigan to airport, high speed train connection(6 mins)to Dusseldorf Centre room only in a 3/4 star hotel 500m from main Railway Station, return flights at 8.0pm ish on Sunday evening with a coach to pick up at L/Brad for the return to Wigan, the Hotel on this trip were also including free tram travel within the city for the duration of the stay.

The cost for this £289 but would be limited to 30 people

We had lots of requests to put some packages together and spent much of the last 2 days doing so, out of about 100 or so who expressed interest, 3 people have asked about booking.

No mate your pissed it’s from 31/7 to the 3/8

Why does it have to be a flee pit at £30 a head a night? I would argue that at the prices you’re talking for your Dusseldorf trip you wont be far off a £30 a night flee pit as you call it. You also don’t want to be nr the train station as it’s a shitehole red light area and a distance from the main altstadt area.

If you’re going to Dusseldorf a good hotel is Hotel Berial and its £85 a night for a twin nr the altstadt with breakfast. 20e from airport in a cab for 4 of you is as cheap as the train too.

The trip sounds like a ball ache tbh, why you wouldn’t fly Lufthansa from Manchester rather than Jet2 from Leeds? or all that boat/coach travelling? All ale onboard Lufthansa free too.

Tez I’m sorry mate I thought that at that price the club trip was taking in both games, so I change my mind it is a blooming rip off.

The reason for the routes was purely down to cost, when I approached Lufthansa for 30 dedicate seats they wanted well over 200 quid a seat, I could only book 6 online at the quoted price at the time, about £130, as soon as I put in 8 seats required the price changed to £160 any more a note came up ‘contact corporate sales/group bookings’.

The reason again for the coach ferry route was again cost, trying to put a cheap package together, and I also took recommendations from many of those that went to Bruges by that hull overnight route, they all said it was brilliant, couple of hours on a bus to hull, then an overnight booze up, with bars, night club, casino or even a cinema then a cabin for a couple of hours when your shot at.

As for the hotels they were 3 star budget ones as you suggest, I looked at more expensive one but again it was more about making it cheap as possible.

Oh and on scheduled flights despite them saying drinks are free you wont get more than one offered to you on a European destination.

I know its a bit of a ball ache but when I organised a stag do to the Dorf, I booked the 9 you’re allowed on Lufthansa, then the rest through Travel Republic and split the cost diff between the party. It was glass bottles of Warsteiner and belive me there was more than 1 per person!

Dusseldorf is superb by the way and the Old Town is known as the biggest bar in Europe. Well worth a trip if you haven’t got your summer hols already booked. In fact travelling around that part of the world for football is on my agenda in the not too distant so I’m a bit peeved I can’t do this trip.

Like I say the Hotel Berial is perfect and works out at 42.5E per night each.

Good luck with organising it, should in theory be easier than sorting Maribor!
