- Contract with Wigan Warriors not to use it in the summer
- Cheaper to play the game – in terms of policing etc – elsewhere
- An agreement with Wigan Metro to play friendlies in Leigh
- Dave Whelan deliberately wants to piss donnys page off
There are lots of reasons that could be behind why the game is not being played at DW.

Well Standish, with the Besiktas game having now been switched to the DW it kind of pisses on the majority of your theories.

No it doesn’t. There was still a reason why the game wasn’t played at DW.The difference now is Leigh Sports Village’s pitch isn’t suitable, therefore the reason for not playing at DW is null and void as it’s the only alternative.
My guess is Besiktas have already paid for their travel to get to Wigan, and if the game was cancelled, Wigan would be liable for this.
All the possible (totally plucked out of the air) reasons I gave are overridden but still more plausible than ‘there is no reason at all why it couldn’t have been played at the DW’
