If I new one thing this season it was this ….it was never going to be dull.
For me, the contrast between the great performance against Villa and the dire rubbish served up last night could hardly be more stark. What it tells me is that Roberto will have to learn a few facts very quickly, including:-
1. We can’t play a passing game like last night against ‘up for it’ teams like Wolves
2. Titus Bramble is a great defender but is not our playmaker.
3. We need a ball winner like Cattermole – not Brown – what about Ben (never had a bad game) Watson ?
4. I could go on…Despite the manner of defeat I remain very upbeat about the Martinez revolution. He is a great bloke with a new approach and I for one will give his teams my complete backing win, lose or draw.
Here’s to enjoying ‘the Journey’.

20 August 2009 at 6:16 am #5770Ok’fools gold’…..Just to start you CANNOT say ‘Ben (never had a bad game’ Watson, beause he is not good and has never done anything good for us…he is a benchwarmer at most…. and also we may look forward to the journey and why shouldnt we…its another chapter in our clubs history and it is all to look forward to…were not going down (i would put ALL my money on that) so lets just see how it goes…..oh and ‘The egg’ I really dont think anybody on this thread got on Martinez’s back, not even Foolsgold

Ben Watson has never done anything good for us?
I recall 2 very important things he has done for us………….
Scoring the winner at Sunderland last season. Ring any bells?
Also at home to Hull. He scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win. Ring any bells?
Ben Watson is a good player, not a world beater but a very good passer, good free kick taker, good penalty taker and a very composed and cool head on the ball. He is good going forward and good tracking back, he’s also still in his early 20’s.
Bobby obviously believes Browny can do a better job and I respect that but I think it’s a little harsh saying Watson’s never done anything good for us.
21 August 2009 at 5:16 am #5900Wouldnt say it was harsh….fair enough he scored 2 goals…one was lucky and one was good…but he has never played ‘outstanding’ or even good enough to warrant a place in my opinion
