On BBC’s site text coverage for the Liverpool game:
“2124: The official attendance at Liverpool is 31,063. You know, for an FA Cup replay that’s on television in a recession, that’s not too shabby at all, is it?”
How come that it’s almost praiseworthy to have a poor attendance (by their standards) for an FA Cup tie in a recession if you’re Liverpool, but when we have a poor attendance against Hull in poor weather – and a recession – it’s diabolical?
