Loved his goal at Nob End in the 4-2 win when Roberts made his debut.

Was a cracking player until he was viciously assaulted at Sjoke and he never seemed to get his confidence back.

        Not sure about that.

He was always a “confidence player”. Some games he could run at defences and torment them, in others if they had the measure of him he was anonymous.

The problem was that as we moved up the leagues there were more defenders who could keep him quiet. A good Championship/Scottish Prem level player who served us well.

The BBC do – they’ve said he’s gone to Kilmarnock on their Transfers page, presumably to get round that very issue.

True, he was a confidence player. Certainly had it in those few months after JR signed.

It would be fair to say that Julian Dicks very much had the measure of him in the Canvey Island game.

Wasn’t that Paul Dalglish that swapped sides to avoid him?
