Never seen as many empty seats and at a club with a catchment area of about 200 miles at least ! No mention in the media but should we be surprised?
what a joke !The crowd was a bit under 29,000, which is about 4,000 short of capacity (did West Ham sell out their allocation?), and the sixth highest of the weekends fixtures.
Not sure what point is being made here?
Ah I just felt that I should point out that I didn’t see the point of you making the point that a crowd of 28,000 was a cause for complaint.Just seemed petty and pointless.

Not a complaint more an observation that the press and media rubbished our crowds and cited the reason as the rugby club when we had an average of nearly 20,000 last season in a town with a population of 80000.We are also surrounded by some of the biggest clubs in the country and have the highest density of football clubs in the country to compete with.
They on the other hand have a massive catchment area compete with a nothing club like Bournemouth and a sinking one in Portsmouth in one of the most affluent areas of the country.
it never ever gets mentioned in the media that’s my point and I think it is a valid point especially when I still hear the rubbishing of our attendances from various quarters even now.
Pointless point ?What about Fulham’s abysmal away following anywhere in the country they get 22000 minimun at home and if it aint in London they take at most 400 away on a good day fook all said by the media

Never ever won a trophy of any note, home gates made up of tourists and yes naff away support so yes good post and again,isn’t it strange how nobody ever brings up their rubbish support.?????
On another point I had to laugh today when a national newspaper said that the 2500 we are taking over to Belgium is one of our biggest ever away followings?????

No doubt the thousands of empty seats there tonight will be our fault should we win. I’m expecting comments such as “feeling at home in a half empty stadium” should we win and “well out of their depth” should we lose.
Swansea of course will be brutally unlucky to lose 5-0.

ah I forgot about how you do not exist unless you are a member of the Premier league – so true ,pick up any national newspaper and try to find stories about lower division clubs -we don’t exist anymore in their eyes.
Swansea are starting to remind me of Latics ,on a dreadful run over the past 15 games although very pleasing on the eye.
I have a feeling this season could be very tough for them as every club will show them complete respect like they did to us last year.
Still the media darlings so I wonder who will be the new whipping boys-my money is in Stoke
