Getting away with his gesture towards the official it seems. Shock horror.
A Liverpool fan commented on Stevie’s challenge on McCarthy over on RLFANS and said:
He slid in from behind on McCarthy but cleanly won the ball. The assistant ref flagged it up as a free kick and Gerrard gave him a spray. Marriner ran over and as Gerrard turned round he flashed him the yellow. Gerrard threw his hand up and it did look like he was giving him the v’s. It wasn’t a blatant “I’m giving you the bird” but you can’t deny he looks like he was giving him 2 fingers.
He is from St Helens though so talking shite comes naturally.
Again I question if any of the chubbies can use a computer.
We all expected Gerrard to get off with it, I like the excuse that he was pointing out the two previous challenges on him were similar. The slight difference was that McCarthy took the ball cleanly both times. So in fact his defence actually shows his intent and guilt !
Still if these small scouse clubs feel the need to keep going on about it, then its their call. e took the three points and moved on :)
