I understand the frustration, I was equally frustrated but:
1 We ain’t going to sack the manager before the end of the season regarldess of what many people (I exclude myself) would like.
2 The team is the team, we ain’t going to change that either.
so we have little choice until after the end of the season. So lets do what we can to positively support them, because constant criticisms and booing them off the pitch certainly ain’t going to make them want to fight for the cause.
Get over it, pull yourselves together and start supporting the team or we certainly will get what we are hoping to avoid – relegation.
when it’s over, whether we survive or go down, then you can continue your rants.

17 April 2010 at 12:53 pm #29810Did you go v Pompey?
All 3 Wigan stands “blue army” in tandem. The “come on Wigan” was out. The drums and Wigan shouts were out. The “we are staying up” made an appearence. Even “Roberto Martinez” got a shout. More so, “Jason Scotland” got a chant. Moreno was welcomed like a God and nearly lifted the roof off the DW.
The support given to Latics in the second half was great, not often you get West standers up on their feet joining in with chants.
May be you mean the fans showing displeasure at the end of the game, certainly not before as when the additional time was announced the “come on Wigan” began again.
Do you think the team should have been cheered? Against the bottom club in the league, 4-0 against their first team and 0-0 against a selection of their reserves and youth at home. The team gets more support now than it ever has. Sadly, the boring football Martinez has us playing does nothing to get the supporters going. How many times in a match do you find yourself off your seat in anticipation? It took Pompey 2 passes to hit our area, it took us 22 with passing backs and countless readable cross field balls by Bramble to NZogbia. These balls are great if the bloke receiving it isn’t man marked. The frustration more than anything is at the manager. What Graeme Barrow coaches the team God only knows.
Or do you mean the support on the Internet message boards??????
Yaaaawwwwnnnnn………17 April 2010 at 1:02 pm #29811I sit in the south with my brother and the kids, i brought some wigan born everton fans from work as well on the cheap tkts, i must say the noise from the east was great even the south and west were up, reminded me of days gone bye, pity not many know you are my sunshine which used to be belted out time & time again over and over.
The everton fans thought we should have won and commented on the good atmosphere, also said scotland wouldnt score in a brothel with a £50 hanging out his pocket, even the nuetral can see we play good football but to no effect, which amounts to nothing, whats bobby and co looking at.19 April 2010 at 3:53 pm #30021i was at the portsmouth game in the east stand (es6).
towards the end the frustration was clearly getting out in the noise (and yes they probably deserved it) but yesterday we were 2 down and I for one didnt see what was coming. but even then the noise was positive (because they were trying) and titus’s drive forward and wide shot (shortly after his proffessional fould and booking on Theo) seemed to get things going even more.
The point is we played our part in the game and that must have helped.
I’ve never seen the east stand take so long to clear after a game.
