I must have told that foreign Cardiff city owner about Tan times to give Mackay a chance and he still is going to pot him.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!20 December 2013 at 2:00 pm #125070I heard that in the summer Mackay wanted to sign Wanyama from Celtic but the chairman stopped the deal going through when he learnt that Wanyama was born in the year of the snake – which is deemed to be unlucky in Malaysia.
Should have walked then Malky.

Dismissing the fact that for 100 years Cardiff played in blue and are called “The Bluebirds” he also changed the club colours to red because in his culture it is considered a lucky colour.
Superstition seem firmly entrenched in his psyche and he most likely believes that has played a large part in him amassing his fortune. If that is the case then no one is going to convince him otherwise.
20 December 2013 at 3:14 pm #125073Some of the colour change and crest change was to make the club a more recognisable brand which is what the Hull City chairman is trying to do. Who wouldn’t know who Cardiff City FC are I’m not sure.
We effectively did it when we changed back to the tree and crown as opposed to the council crest.
20 December 2013 at 4:45 pm #125079just rememberd we had the borough crest not wigan one ancient and loyal thats fit for bog roll and wurriors shirts

I think it’s more obvious than just a crest change.

I’d wipe my arse on a wurriers shirt no matter which crest it had on it.

20 December 2013 at 11:44 pm #125109The shirt colour row at Cardiff and the Hull City/Tigers thing is for those fans the ultimate trade off of tradition v money.
Most other fans don’t give a damn whether Cardiff play in blue, red or white with pink dots. But we see where they’re coming from.
A well known Glasgow club are in dire times. What would happen if an Irish American Billionaire offered them a blank cheque provided they switched to playing in green  The fans wouldn’t let him in the door….no matter how many millions he had.
Football has always been tribal. It’s just there’s too much money involved now.
