20 August 2015 at 4:43 pm #144268Seen Latics at Gillingham a couple of times. It’s like a rough Northern town plonked on the Medway. Three points though for the taking if we play like last neet.
20 August 2015 at 5:08 pm #144269Only been in and out of the place so can’t comment but there’s some not bad places around there been/being redeveloped docklands
20 August 2015 at 5:47 pm #144271I refuse to ever go to Gillingham again.
Must be 10 years ago. Drove all the way down on a cold Tuesday afternoon/evening, 5hrs plus. Only to be told on the turnstile that the game had been called off.
:(
Anybody else do the same that night?
20 August 2015 at 7:19 pm #144281Went on the coach for the first game the Spaniards played, with a bunch of like minded, bad bodied Neanderthals, some horrific sights and smells as the temp must have topped 40 on the coach and about 55 in the bog, a bad 10 hours round trip.

Went down on the supporters coach. Sat behind the driver and heard him talking to the team coach driver. Off the motorway, round the roundabout and back on.
No days holiday left for the return game but luckily I worked in the offices at JJB at the time and DW gave me a paid day off so I could go. :cheer:
20 August 2015 at 8:05 pm #144289Only been the once. Stayed at a Latics mates in London & got the train out there.
It took absolutely yonks & the train carriages were like something out of a 1940’s period drama.
Having had a few drinks before & after the game I’d concur with the poster who said what a crud heap it is (or it certainly was on my visit which must have been 10-15 years ago – possibly a season or 2 after that fan had been killed there after some fighting between Gillingham & whoever they were playing)
Their description of it as a rough northern town plonked on the medway is pretty much how I described it at the time – I also seem to remember it being a bit of a trek from the train station & centre of town through some ropey, winding terraced streets

That was between Gillingham and Fulham.
Been a few times, including the game called-off, but don’t remember us winning many times.
Ones that stick out are 3 amigos first game & 0-0 last game of the season when Sheffield won the Challenge Cup ;)
