Golobart is currently being harassed on twitter from all manner of Latics fans asking if he is to stay with us and long may it continue until an answer is forthcoming :lol:
He is just retweeting them one after the other.
Why should he? Nobody’s business but his and the club’s.
Plus, I suspect there are club regulations that advise them againstprevent them from discussing contract stuff.
You’re right but it would be nice to have some positive information in a period of uncertainty for the club…
Unless he has someone showing interest in Spain or elsewhere I personally think it would be a good move for him to sign a new contract and try and cement a starting place next year.
For us to benefit from the good work Martinez has done we need to keep hold of the likes of Golobart and Mcmanman etc.
Plus I am more than hoping to see a front three of Maloney Kone and Mcmanaman in the Championship next season who IMO would give us a real attacking edge over the majority of teams in that league.
I would like him to stay, in the games he’s played, he has little wrong. Back four for next season. Boyce, Ramis (hopefully) Golobart, Lopez.
Martinez has gathered a core of Spanish speaking players. The great danger now is that they too will seek new clubs.
Some may follow Martinez, some may look for a more familiar environment. As the pool gets smaller, Wigan will be less attractive to the remaining players.
Other players will be in demand too, and the club probably needs to reduce the wages bill. I don’t think we’ll recognise the team that walks out for the Community Shield.
