Good effort, solid performance, now please please let the team have a run of games.
Thought the balance was good, we can always debate various positions and never agree, but the way forward is to stick with the formation, tactics and barring injury stick with them. A run together can only help them gel into a team and start picking up points.

Ramis was excellent, in fact the back four great, always feel like they are looking after kiernan when he plays.
Midfield looked better, thought Kvist was very good.
Wingers looked exciting, especially mclean who was mom for me.

Having said all that I’m not sure about Delort at all ! More flicks than Mido.

I fully agree with all of that.

We played well tonight but still lack a little upfront.Too much showboating from Delort. Play the same team behind but stick Riera upfront instead.

Yes much improved on recent games, which in fairness, would not be difficult.

McClean looked like he had a point to prove :cheer:

Cowie’s best game by far. Defence looked solid, agreed Ramis was outstanding. Good to see Barnett getting some time on the park.

We would probably have settled for a point beforehand. You can’t help coming away frustrated though. Lots of possession and movement both of players and ball, but no goals to show for it. 13 shots, 2 on target according to the BBC website.

20th in the table and potentially lower tomorrow.

Uwe maybe in trouble with the Football League I reckon. He had a mega rant at the Assistant Ref after Maloney was “fouled” on 60 min. The 4th official wrote a few notes down.

      So in summary…jury’s out really.

Much improved in way of effort. Delort would possibly look better with a strike partner. Wing play was OK but not the best. Callum was hardly in the game and Bambi did little in the second half apart from an awfull finish. I will give it to Bambi though he worked hard and had a great 15 minute spell in first half. Barnett needs to be back regular now. Perch needs to practice controlling and distributing the ball.Carson was hardly called on but their keeper didn’t have much to do due to our one up front policy. Was Waghorn injured??
Who will be dropped and will it be back to 5 4 1 or will Tinkerman stick with 4 5 1. One thing all most certain he will stick with the 1 up front business.

Donny, I’m guessing when it comes to to your preferences for women (if you’re that way inclined) that you’re a breast rather than an arse man given your obsession with 2 up front!

Fully agree with the original post. A better all round performance that must have installed more confidence in the player.
That said I was disappointed with a couple of things last night. Firstly what the hell were all the free kicks about. Our players going towards the box only for us to knock a short one to our defender then back to Carson. (frustrating)
Secondly why did we not keep at least one player up the field when they had a corner or free kick? On numerous occasions we cleared the ball long and no one to fight for the ball.
Apart from those minor point gotta say it’s a step in the right direction .

              Up the tics

From the Daily Mail report – “Wigan boss Uwe Rosler revealed that the team had a pep talk in the dressing room from chairman Dave Whelan before the game.”

It would be interesting to know what he said – but it obviously made a difference ?????

Ha ha. Quite partial to both thank you sir.
Things have changed in the game but can’t help to think of those great days of Ellington and Roberts etc.

A definite improvement but is it just me that thinks Forest looked pretty average ?We were weak in the last 3rd. Delort cannot play the lone role ,not strong enough and way off whats needed.20 goal a season ? Be lucky if he hit’s 5.But please prove me wrong.

Delort kept drifting out to the wing and when he did receive the ball in the middle in an advanced position he just kept getting rid straight away! He needs to stop the flicks as well as they aint working! Can he turn a defender?

Thought it was a good entertaining game last night, especially for a 0 – 0. Lively crowd as well.

Great playing with two wingers but we don’t seem to win a lot of headers in the box. We don’t cause the opposition many problems on corners & set pieces either.

A bit of variation in our play might help. Few times last night we should have played it through the middle for someone to run onto but we passed it wide.

Let’s hope we find some consistency now!!
