Should see us to the Euros next year if we win on Tuesday.
Going off the state of the pitch, they will never be able to slate us again.
3-0, great result, could have been even better.
3 September 2011 at 1:56 pm #71048Shows we don’t need some of the prima donas to get results as well, for once I think Capello showed what he was brought in for, pity it is a bit late for the WC
3 September 2011 at 2:48 pm #71052Its encouraging to see all the young lads in the squad.
Hart, Smalling, Jones, Cahill, Richards, Cleverley, Johnson, Walcott, Carroll.
And then you think of the youngsters that wearn’t included in the squad for various reasons.
Wilshere, Henderson, Gibbs, etc
Most of them all ready have bags of experience at international and club level (champions league in most cases).
Individually the quality is there. Just need a manager who can get them playing together and actually start enjoying playing for their country unlike the previous generation of players.
5 September 2011 at 11:44 am #71075Pity we can only beat teams like Bulgaria like this, when it comes to the top 6 or 8 in Europe we continually struggle..
Pity the game was ruined by the english fans facist chanting.
5 September 2011 at 5:01 pm #71078Pity the game was ruined by the english fans facist chanting.Ruined? For who? The Bulgarian fans who it was aimed at? I’m by no means condoning the alledged chants but to say it ruined the game is abit strong.
Those kinds of chants are heard from our fans on a regular bases when we visit towns with a large asian communities. It makes me feel embarrassed to be sat in the same section as them but by no means ruins the game. :?
Your post is a prime example as to why there is so much negativity towards the national side. You had nothing negative to say about the on pitch performance so you chose to comment on off the field issues. And for extra brownie points you threw in past failures.
This thread was started to highlight the performance on the pitch. Lets keep it that why.
5 September 2011 at 7:13 pm #71081Actually for me casual racism does ruin the game and atmosphere. Not only that the embarassment of the game being show world wide, and now we have lost the moral high ground in all the complaints we have.
To be fair I have followed England to 3 major championships and been let down pretty much every time, so when I see England beat a tin pot 3rd rate nation I dont get excited.
