FFS get him back in the team, he can’t be any worse at 16 stone than the two so called forwards we have been using so far.

20 August 2014 at 2:24 am #132906Thats the difference cardiff had jones maynard le fondre we had fortune riera waghorn oh not forgetting holt. I bet our lot wont score ten goals between um
20 August 2014 at 2:29 am #132907Cardiff played with two decent ones up front who combined to score their goal. We played with one up front again, and a shite one at that.
20 August 2014 at 2:45 am #132909Cardiff also reverted to a 4-4-2 system which at Wigan seems to be taboo. I was excited when both Fortune and Holt came but is it just coincidence that for the past few seasons our forwards have been inept to say the least or is the negative system we have adopted?. Ah, remember the halcyon days of Roberts and Ellington when football was good?.
20 August 2014 at 3:02 am #132910I think its the system i would have a go with riera and callum up front

You might not rate those two at Cardiff, but I would swap them for Riera and Fortune.
Maynard scored 4 in 11 matches while on loan with us last year, Fortune has scored 6 in 53 matches for us. He has scored 34 in 190 in his career, and 10 of those were in the mickey mouse Scottish Premier League.
They may not be world beaters, but Maynard has scored 92 in 250 matches and Jones has scored 88 in 330 matches. I wish Fortune was as shit as those two??
20 August 2014 at 2:58 pm #132919Fortune could be used as a foil to a striker who has pace and knows where the back of the net is but as an actual goal scorer himself his stats tell us that he aint really that good! As Rosler has said, the business seems to have been done for finding decent strikers and so I feel we must make do with what we have! Rosler’s bubble does appear to have burst!
20 August 2014 at 8:42 pm #132931Problem is a midfield issue. Too many players at Wigan who pass it sideways and backwards. Maloney apart no creativity! strikers are isolated with little or no service. I think thats why Rosler wants Forshaw but Whelan probably won’t pay up
20 August 2014 at 9:03 pm #132932Thats why he his waiting on a bid for a striker one rumoured to be cameron jerome but i have a feeling we r going to get taylor fletcher on loan

21 August 2014 at 2:04 am #132944As bad as Fortuné if not worse, lucky escape if you ask me but another reason to worry about the manager and how desperate he may have gotten!
